Add "super drag and drop"…

That'd be very useful. It would be cool if it could do that one way for opening something in a new tab, like say, dragging the link/text on the tab bar for a new tab and dragging it outside for a new window.

Yes, please add it as a builtin feature of Vivaldi. I specifically registered so that I can make this comment.
The superdrag extension of chrome does not work well.
Vivaldi is a great browser and it will be a pity not to have this great feature. That'd be very useful. It would be cool if it could do that one way for opening something in a new tab, like say, dragging the link/text on the tab bar for a new tab and dragging it outside for a new window.

There's not much point in bumping your threads. If you want to make sure a feature request is logged, create a Bug Report (yes, feature requests can also be logged here).
Posting on the forums is a good way to get feedback from other users about how a feature request could be improved, or to see if it has been reported before, but the developers don't spend a lot of time here.

Did you submit your feature request to the bug report wizard yet? That would be more effective than bumping your old threads. There's also a Feature Request forum. (Link updated)

I want it too.
I'm former Firefox user, QuickDrag is a pretty convenient firefox extension, unfortunately, Firefox Quantum has no longer support old extensions, so I switch to Vivaldi.
for now , Chromium-like browser also has some "Superdrag" extensions, but all of them sucks, barely unuseful.

Vote for existing feature requests such as: Drag Text to Tab Bar to Search and Chrome-like New Window Creation with Drag and Drop
-
@pesala: I was about to upvote them, but both are different from the "super drag and drop" described by the OP.
In "Drag Text to Tab Bar to Search", you would drag the text up to the tabbar, which would be cumbersome when your Vivaldi window is large. (Please don't talk about changing the mouse sensitivity. It's really hard to control the mouse when it's too fast.)
In "Chrome-like New Window Creation with Drag and Drop", you would drag the tab to create a new window.
The "super drag and drop" the OP talks about is dragging text (or any element) and releasing it within the current page, which result in searching the element and showing the result of the search in a new tab. See the youtube video posted by the OP.
So, this thread should stand as a separate feature request.
I personally would use the feature a lot because it would be more convenient than right-click > "Search for . . . " and right-click > "Open Link in New Background Tab".
