Bookmarks: dividing line as separator
-
In Opera 12 and older – there was the opportunity to set dividing lines as separators in bookmarks. This was so suitable and made Opera unique in the past. Hope, this feature will be part of Vivaldi !?!

Hard to say when/if a niche feature of this type might arrive (unless coding it is absolutely trivial and could be done in 15 minutes of a developer's time). The thing is, Blink and V8 (the browser and JS engines on which the browser is built) have no such functions for bookmarks, and so the code for it would have to be written from scratch in the UI, which means that, since a huge majority of users are not likely to be worried about such a feature, other things are going to take priority. I suppose it's a kewl feature and all, and Opera had it (because ANY button could be placed on ANY toolbar and ANY element could be inserted in ANY list), so there's a chance it could show up here. I just wouldn't hold my breath, is all I am saying.

From my knowledge of coding it's not hard to implement, internally it can be a standard bookmark. The problem is the bookmarks bar and SD as how should this element be shown? Should it be shown as a special SD or favicon? Or should it be ignored at all on those?
For now you can create a bookmark with name full of hyphens.

Must have!

Bit old thread, but first on a google search, so…
There is a "hidden feature" now, if you give a bookmark the name "---" then it will be a separator, though this only works inside folder dropdowns.

This is a useful tip. I bookmarked my homepage several times, and named it with "–-"

Any chance to finaly have separator for bookmark ?

@wootwoots Its ready in the latest snapshot! When all the bugs are fixed and 1.15 is released, you'll be able to use it.

@lonm Oh nice, finaly.
Now need to fix the icon "never updating", fix the delay that happen sometime when you quickly open / close a folder, let us open close folder with one click instead of double click.
And the bookmark side bar is going to be as good as the old firefox one with all in one side bar
