Posting time limit

I can understand the 240 seconds time limit on posts, however it would be nice if instead of a spinner that spinner would actually correlate to 240 seconds, so you could have better understand of when exactly those 240 seconds are over. I think that'd be a nice touch...
-
@idanadar If you get a couple of reputation points, this time limit will soon disappear.
-
@pesala Yes, I'm waiting for someone to do that, bug regardless this would be quite the improvement for new users, not just me...
-
@idanadar You are two thirds of the way there. And yeah, a lot of work could/should go into the forum code, especially considering long standing bugs, but the browser takes precedence.

I believe I could code something like this, the problem is no one new would ever install the forum extension and everyone who stays around has enough reputation, so they wouldn't need it. Isn't worth the trouble probably.

IMHO. There should be always a
time interval
between posting. -
@lamarca I don't think there is. I don't need anything to slow me down. Accidental double posts can easily be deleted.
-
So you purged the second post. Don't take it as a critic. You did the right thing.

That's a different subject.

No. It is the same topic. There is no need for a time limit because double accidental posts can easily be deleted (by users as well as by moderators).
Once a user has sufficient privileges to post, why hinder them by making them wait between posts? It takes time to write a post anyway, but a time limit only hinders those who are both quick and busy.
-
@pesala Everyone has privileges to post. Only users can develop reputation. Spammers, if there is no post-delay for no-reputation posters, can fill a forum in minutes. With a delay, that ability is greatly reduced - giving mods time to remove spam and ban spammers before a "flood" condition presents itself (before there was I delay, I found myself deleting sometimes over a hundred spam posts in a single sitting, even after banning the spammer).
-
I was forced to submit the post above missing two important details. The info could be added later.
Coincidentally your reply contains the two subjects who are not present on that post, and I changed my mind, please have a look at two threads on our forum:- Thread starterd .......
- New System .....
The title of both thread are incomplete.
-
@ayespy There is no need for a time limit once someone has sufficient reputation point.s. to post without a time limit.

Doesn't worth the time to create an extension for it, I agree...
