Cannot connect to BBC iPlayer in either Deepin Linux or Win 7

Hello
I've installed the relevant flash player ppapi tar.gz files but cannot connect. Tried Chrome browser and this works fine. Clearly missing something. Any help most welcome.
Thanks

@teekay Snapshot [which?] or Stable [which?]?
It works fine for me in current Snapshot:
Do the three videos play ok for you in your V? https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html

Is that URL you are referring: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer ?
The videos start to play and the message bellow stops them. Hence Vivaldi is able to reproduce the videos.BBC iPlayer only works in the UK. Sorry, it’s due to rights issues.

Indeed. The codecs. Can you play all the vídeos on the test page: https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html
If Vivaldi fails on the test page and as your distro is based on Debian, download and runs this script:
https://gwendragon.de/repo/linux/vivaldi/vivaldi-libffmpeg-install.sh

@lamarca
Hello and thanks for the quick response. The test videos play fine, no problems. I am in UK but am unable to receive eg sport programs through my Pioneer radio that is connected directly to my Router with an ethernet cable. This problem is on R5Live and is due to contractual reasons- BBC give me some waffle about picking up foreign channels but offer no solution. I wanted to use this route due to much better quality from my Pioneer unit than I can get through a web browser and connected speakers.I still cannot connect to BBC iplayer radio in Vivaldi. I have tried chrome, chromium and opera and all work fine. The "Listen Live" buttons on the main page are dead and do not connect to anything. If I invoke the pop up player, I get the Sound of Silence...message. I have allowed Flash player as I read that iplayer uses this but then I read that it also uses HTML5 so it's confusing. I also read that Deepin's latest version has switched from Ubuntu to Debian and maybe that's an issue but Vivaldi on Win 7 doesn't work either. I have installed the latest ppapi file but no joy. Help still welcome!

Hello again - I just tried the script from Gwen - had to install it with the -f switch as the terminal said to install chromium-codecs-extra, but I couldn't find this on typing in. I tested the test http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html as asked and now cannot play anything at all! just get the black screen with the dead bird on its back with the feet up!

Hello again. FYI the terminal message after installing is :
For vivaldi (Vivaldi 1.13.1008.34 ) the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra (64.0.3282.167) is installed:
/opt/vivaldi/libffmpeg.so
/opt/vivaldi/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra-version.txtRestart Vivaldi and test H.264/MP4 support via this page:
http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html
Thanks

Glad to know. It means you have all the Codecs

Flash will soon be discontinued. HTML5 will execute those videos using the highest technology

Hello again - I just tried the script from Gwen - had to install it with the -f switch
The switch
-f
is to override the installed libffmpeg.so
Firstly, use-I
to search for existing lib, in case of duplicated or at the wrong place, delete
Then use the switch-u
for Stable and for the Snapshot is-S

@lamarca
Thanks for the reply. I had not realised that Gwen's script was additional to the standard ones. I thought it was to make it actually work! I have followed her suggestions and removed all but one instance of libffmpeg.so and chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra-version.txt that are in /opt/vivaldi. But bbc radio does not play either within iplayer or in the pop out player. So I do not know what to do other than maybe uninstall it and try again. As I said, ita all works fine in Chrome, Chromium and Opera.
Thanks

@gwen-dragon
Hello Gwen
Thank you for taking the trouble to respond to my issue. I have not solved the problem and Vivaldi refuses to connect to BBC radio. I have responded to @lamarca as follows:"Thanks for the reply.
