Limit the Width of Bookmark Menu Folders
-
Users can manually edit Bookmark Titles to shorten them, but this is too much work for many avid bookmark collectors. Page Titles are often too long.
Set the default width to 150 pixels and allow users to change it.
150 Pixel Wide Menu
-
Why 150?
Firefox has 350 Pixel Wide Menu. -
@stardust Because Vivaldi is better than Firefox (~_~)
The minimum width when all of the titles are brief is 150 pixels, which is needed for "Add Active Tab." It could fit on even less width, but let's be generous as three or four words are not always enough to identify the page title.
Some users will have deeply nested folders. Two levels are already used before any bookmark folder is opened. Add five to that and multiply 150 by 7 and you get 1050 pixels, which is already wide enough to fill some monitors (mine is 1200 x 1600).

I hope someday it will

Firefox - 350 pixels
Opera 12 - 280 pixels150 is too small i think. I am fine with 350 or 280.

@stardust Well, that's why I suggested an option to change the default.
-
This is my current Bookmarks menu, with four cascading levels. Just by deleting the Ctrl+Shift+B shortcut that I had assigned to Manage Bookmarks, but which I rarely use, the overall width is reduced by about 50 pixels.
-
Has there been any implementation of this yet? I can't find a way to change the default width of menu drop downs.
-
No. Still waiting...
The width of different menus is inconsistent and it looks bad (not only Bookmark Menu)
