Unable to highlight separate texts
-
For some reason, I am unable to individually highlight texts when pressing ctrl. Is there an option to enable this or is there a different command?

I've just tried in firefox (I assume that's where you're coming from), and that looks like a really useful feature which I don't think is present in vivaldi. It might be worth making a Feature Request for it.
I see you can shift+select, though, but that's not quite what you're talking about.
Unless of course, you're coming from another chrome-based browser which supports this, in which case that's probably a bug which you can report here

@noshutomai Just curious. For what is this useful?
-
@pesala I can see it could be useful to copy different parts of a text in one go, instead of selecting different parts, copy, pasting over the destination text file, go back to the browser, select more different parts, and so on. I would normally copy the whole text from start to end of the interesting part, paste on destination and then edit out the uninteresting parts.

@pesala it's more convenient to copy different sections in one go rather than editing it later on
-
@noshutomai You haven't answered the question.
It's obviously easier if you need to copy different sections of text, but why would you need to do that in a browser?
My Desktop Publishing program can do that and I suspect that many word-processors can too, but why does anyone need this in a browser?

@pesala Wished I had this feature a few days ago as I was scrolling through a text based list of movies and I wanted to select the ones I like to see in the future and copy them into a text file. Switching back and forth about 60 times was a bit... lets say unpleasant.
Another scenario could be to quote stuff from a text that has a lot of side explanations in it which you don't want to copy. You just want the core statement and not all the blabla around it.
EDIT: And because shift-select is already there I don't see any reason why ctrl-select shouldn't be implemented. (and ctrl+shift-select of course also)

@pesala I mean there's a lot of texts on the internet that I need to sometimes get sources from
Is that what you're asking? -
