Window Background Images
-
There's already a thread for general themes, I thought it might be nice to have a place to share specific images for the Window Background as introduced in the latest snapshots.

It's funny, because I used to run patterns in the tabbar background when I started out modifying Vivaldi -- the default one is pretty similar to the one I used originally.
-
This is a strange inclusion considering the browsers that use this feature do not have tabs on the side (which these images will not work on).
But not to be party pooper, like with the start page, it appears you can use animated images as well.
Here's the banner from Outlook beta (have to use a link as it seems this forum doesn't load
gif
files) -
Site where I got svg patterns
Current is a spinning-trip-gif to test overall peformance lol -
I assume you are using
css
to implement these because they don't appear to be recognised by the built-in theming. -

But yeah, I didn't tested them with the new feature; they probably will converted to png (with alpha channel) :3I hope this feature will include the whole top part (menubar/addressbar/boomark bar) in future while keeping the tab bar like it does with side tabs on.
But probably needs a native "tabs under urlbar/bookmark bar" for better results.No other mods on snapshot (well, just few css lines...)
As I came back to snap I'm doing "a mod selection" to have a light version for next stable -
Honeycomb (use with repeat, it's a small texture)

This appears pretty nice, but "hides" a bit the minimize button

Hi, I am sorry for the offtopic, but Iβd like to have the initial window background image I had before I've changed it. Could anyone of you upload it for me? AFAIK itβs named sayagata.png
-
@zmeypc You can find it in your vivaldi install directory. On windows, for me it's %PROGRAMFILES%\Vivaldi\Application\1.15.1125.3\resources\vivaldi\resources\sayagata.png. It might be %LOCALAPPDATA% on other machines. I'm not sure about other OSes.
-
@lonm I am on mac.
-
@zmeypc No idea where then. I'll just upload it:
-
@zmeypc You'll find it at
content/versions/1.15.1125.3/vivaldi frameworks/versions/A/resources/vivaldi/resources/sayagata.png
(at least on Sierra). -
@lonm thank you!
-
@hlehyaric good to know. thank you
-
@zmeypc Glad to help you.
