Progress Bar with stats to stick
-
Imagine my shock when I was looking at the bottom for progress and couldn't find any until I finally saw it on top, and awesomely with some stats too - any way to make these stats stick ? As when a page takes a while to load when we return that info is gone; would also be awesome to have speed show up there.
As it is V took an interesting take on the others by hiding the irrelevant portion of overly loooong URLs.
Any info like this, specially for devs, would be of great help. -
@rojaviv You can enable the full URL if you really want to. Settings > Address Bar > Show Full Address
As for the progress bar, I actually have no idea what it's supposed to be showing. You're right that the stats go away to quickly to read, but even when they're there, the numbers don't seem to make much sense. Particularly when you compare them to the contents of the network panel in the inspector.

@lonm Yeah I saw that setting and left it alone..dont need full URL.
Ok if the numbers dont match up then meh...will ignore -
@rojaviv I'm guessing the numbers refer to things loaded at page load time. But so many sites these days load extra resources after page load that it becomes somewhat useless information.
Case in point: on Discord, vivaldi says 8/8 when loading, but by the time the page has fully loaded, the network inspector has recorded 86 requests...

I never understood why this is not on by default.
Most users want always to see the full address.
Or maybe I'm too much conservative?
It's like the tab zoom option which changed default behaviour time ago. -

The idea is that by making it easier to spot the domain of the site you're on, you can make it easier for people to recognise phishing attempts.

This request received only 4 votes for over 4 years and is now archived. It should be possible to add it using custom modifications if someone really wants it.
