Forum PWA Issue with External Images
-
When installing the Vivaldi forum as a PWA via Firefox 59.0b5 for Android 8 I have encountered an issue when external images are loaded.
Note that I am aware that PWAs are very much an emerging technology, so it's entirely possible I'm reading too much into a non-issue.
Basically, a PWA has to do everything over HTTPS. This means that when people embed external images from HTTP sources, things break completely and the PWA kicks you back into the browser.
The simplest (I say simple, but I don't mean this would be easy or trivial, just simpler compared to other solutions) what solution as I see it would be to have a toggle in the forum settings that inserts a placeholder in place of any unsafe resources.
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this issue (or if someone would be able to correct a misunderstanding I have in this).

@gwen-dragon Well, not by default, but I don't see how it would hurt anyone, if we had a toggle in forum settings to block/enable "unsafe" sources, which is set to enable by default.

@gwen-dragon I don't need it, I thought it's obvious that this is a working solution for OP's problem.

I've tried in chrome and chrome seems fine when loading pages that Firefox thinks are insecure. I'll need to investigate this issue further, it seems.
