Minor problem - Vivaldi doesn't start maximized
-
@escolar A known regression already mentioned in the Snapshot announcement thread and elsewhere.
-
Thanks Pesala.
Is this a long standing regression?
Have been having this issue for quite some time through many Snapshots.
Is Shift-Close the best way to overcome until it's fixed?

Not that I noticed. IIRC it was fine in 1.13 final.
Holding Shift while closing makes no difference for me.
-
FWIW - after several cold starts Vivaldi continues to load maximized.
Makes me think there is a startup switch that can set that behavior.
-
@mdesatnikov It started with blue frame around. After click on Minimize/Maximaze window it goes well.

Try the following:
start Vivaldi
maximize it
hold Shift pressed and close Vivaldi
restart the PCIn my case does't work this.
-
After further testing have concluded this solution doesn't actually work.
Are there switches that can be appended at startup to force starting maximized?
-
I'm going to try this for awhile as a separate startup item:
"C:\Program Files\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe" --start-maximized
-
@escolar If it bothers you that much, revert to the last stable version. All it takes is two clicks on the maximise/restore button to fix it.
-
I have this problem after the update 1.14.1077.41 (Stable channel) (64 bit)
-
I had problems with this until the final build, which now seems to be working OK on restart. I use restart from last session.
-
It is quite funny that it hasn't been fully resolved for over than a year.
It is now better in the version 2.x but not perfect. I have pinned Vivaldi to taskbar, right click it and open in the private window, maximize is still broken ..
-
@ucf526jo I tried three times, but was unable to reproduce it.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit build 17134.320 • Snapshot 2.2.1350.4 (64-bit)
Edit: I could reproduce it easily in Vivaldi 2.1 stable.
If you have reported a bug before, then you can ask on the Bug Status Thread.
-
I am still experiencing this in the snapshot. (1350.4)
-
I haven't reported the bug anywhere yet. It also appears randomly with normal (non-private) mode. I will try to find the pattern. But it is really annoying.
-
@escolar I have eight windows and some start maximized and others don't. I just maximize the ones that don't.
-
@mdesatnikov
it's perfect ! I had been resizing every time I started Vivaldi for a long time. Thank you !
And it also saves the positions of other Vivaldi windows.
(Win 10 64 bit) -
in fact it only worked sometimes, it's not a good solution for me. If you find the solution, let us know!
