this and any other clip doesn't play on 1.14.1077.3 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit)
It worked on previous build -
- That's now not the latest version of V [but i also have not yet updated].
- Initially it also wouldn't work for me, but i have recently beefed up my page security, so...
- It plays just fine in a Private window [ie, with my extensions bypassed], so V is NOT your problem root cause.
- With this minor tinkering to my uO, it then also plays fine in a normal page:
-
@steffie Btw, just updated. It still plays fine.
-
What is the latest version of V? I updated V tonight?
i do not have uO -
@jpaulbiss It's in my signature line.
-
The latest version I can find is 1.14.1077.25-1 just installed it.
Videos do not play
I see you are using Linux Manjaro and I am using Ubuntu Studio 16.04LTS
There may be something with Ubuntu -
@jpaulbiss Yes that is the current version, but i knew it would not solve your problem; as i mentioned before, my test implied that V & that site are not mutually incompatible per se, ie, there's an issue locally for you. That's paradoxically good news, if we can collectively solve it [duh]. Initial questions:
- Does it play for you in Private window?
- Does it play in virginal Profile?
- Have you done "the usual stuff" wrt Flash, Widevine & ffmpeg?

- no
- no
- Nothing was changed. I check the package manager Synaptic it show an upgrade for vivaldi I upgrades here I am.
I downgraded to 1.14.1064.3-1 that works, 1.14.1072.3-1 does not work.

Ah, interesting; possibly supports your earlier suspicion that something about your distro might not be happy with the recent V's. I'm now beyond my abilities to offer constructive help to you, so i'll bow out in knowledge that others will doubtless soon jump in here & try to help you.
My final gasp... do you use VB, VMWare etc, ie, use VMs? If so, can you experiment with your identical V-SS setup as now, in a non-Ubuntu distro VM, & see if then that site does play for you? If it does, then the finger points more strongly at a Ubuntu-centric root cause. If it still does not play [& your V setup really is identical to your real one], then the spotlight shifts back to your V config setup.

I updated my laptop to the latest Valaldi version which has these issues on my workstation and there are no video issues. Very interesting. -
