Using Raspi build on Odroid
-
Thank you for the ARM build. It's very nice to have a javascript enabled alternative among the very few alternatives that exists on some ARM platforms.
I'm using your Raspi build on an Odroid XU4. It's very snappy so far with no major glitches. There's not as many knobs to turn on Vivaldi as opposed to firefox/about:config, but this browser has a niche place in my now updated browser arsenal. So, THANKS!

@ronaldlees Thanks for the feedback

@ronaldlees ditto on XU4 for a few weeks on a custom kernel. Of course we expect armeabi or armv7a builds to be portable to the A15s. Since the xu4 significantly outstrips the sluggish rpi 64bit (compute, net, USBSS IO) there is a sizeable odroid community. Heck even the Odroid C series outperforms the respective RPi.
DEVELOPERS: please keep building portable arm code - eabi. There are more 32bit arm devices than 64 bit ones. Also the 32bit Exynos/Odroid devices seriously outperform 64 bit arm boards.

Lately, I've been running Vivaldi with only the 4 small cores online, and performance wise it's still excellent. On the XU4, I find this is often the case. unless I'm compiling a program or something equally demanding. -
I have been trying to run vivaldi on odroid-c2 which is 64 bit, but it won't load at all - complains over the chromium-ffmpeg-codecs which does install but does not work. I run archlinux-arm (aarch64). In AUR the 64.0.3282.140 version does not exist yet for amd64. I built it but it does not link with the vivaldi-browser. I don't know if it is archlinux-arm that fails or the .deb's. Is anyone running vivaldi on odroid-c2? Would be nice to have some comments.

The solution is towards the bottom of this thread, by @meveric:

I don't have to use that solution, because I'm using the first version (1.13?) on my Odroid. It is still available:
wget -c -t0 https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/vivaldi-stable_1.13.1008.34-1_armhf.deb

@ronaldlees Did not work on my archlinux-arm (odroid-C2). But thanx any way. I guess singleboards are more used for IoT and Kodi et al. Thanx, though

@linfan Just wanna inform that I now have a working vivaldi on my odroid-c2 that is aarch64 or in debian terms arm64.
