I prefer a single user install:)
-
@lamarca: That'll work as well
-
@ruario And also my preferable method, and it tests how the RC behaves using the lib placed at ~/.local/lib/vivaldi
-
@lamarca: well linux is a bit special actually. On linux you can install the stable (or this build) and snapshots side by side and they use different profiles so there should be no issue. My advice about not installing on top of a snapshot was primarily aimed at windows and mac users
-
@lamarca: in summary, just go right ahead and install this build
-
This is a good idea. Spectre is just waiting to happen.
-
@ruario: Thanks. I installed the stable in single user mode. H.264/MP4 is not executing. The lib is placed at ~/.local/lib/vivaldi
-
@ruario: I did it
-
I am Alto Tester. The operation is a bit heavy.
I would like even computers with RAM 2 GB to be able to move quickly comfortably!By Windows 7 32bit 2GB intel CORE TM i3

This build is working really well here. Only glitch is with the installer, which enables "Notify about updates" even if you have it unchecked.
The normal automatic updater doesn't do that.
It's been so long since I've used the installer that I don't know if this is a new phenomenon or not.
-
@lamarca: which version of the lib is in ~/.local/lib/vivaldi where is it from?
-
@ruario Hey! Its chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_64.0.3282.99-0ubuntu0.17.10.1_amd64.deb
The Stable ignores ~/.local/lib/vivaldiEdit: Error message about Demuxer

Issue solved.
Thanks to @ruario for providing the command/script which installed the right codecs. -

Not 100% new, I've seen it with builds before. Does not make sense here since i have about 10 different versions installed as stand alone all the time.
