After updating Ubuntu video and audio stop working?
-
After aplying some upgrades to ubuntu 16.04 today, vivaldi 1.14.1072 videos on twitter, flash, netflix and other sources stops working.
everything was working good, but since upgrading some codecs (don't remember exactly which ones) video stop working, although on firefox and chromium is working as expected.
any suggestions?

@zikkeratak It's due to Chrome64.
Here is a workaround: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/23748/vertical-reader-mode-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1-14-1072-3/34 -
Great @lamarca thanx a lot this work like a charm, are we expecting any issues on every upgrade from chrome?
-
@zikkeratak That's not desirable. It depends on Chome update to version 64.

@ruario thanx a lot, i'm sure other users will find similar issues, damn! proprietary codecs.

@ruario This didn't work until I also copied the libffmpeg.so file to ~/.local/lib/vivaldi/
I renamed my original just to be safe first. I am running Linux Mint 18.3 if that matters. This is now resolved for me!
Thank you all for your hard work on Vivaldi!!
