Open Vivaldi Settings → Appearance, disable the "Use of Animnation" may reduce the problems.
All ready done, cos of the Dead birds...
I checked with the Task manager and see the Tabs with the Videos use around 2800MB RAM... after some time...
Sadly I feel every update makes vivaldi worse for me

Each tab uses 2800 MB? No. Weoudl be interesting which tabs use so much and which videos.
the last Tab that went that high was a Twitch live stream that I was watching for about an hour and a half. surprisingly without a Dead Bird so far, but then the stuttering and the high RamUsage begin.

1.14 Snapshot got some enhancements with video.
Please test on twitch.
Start install with "Advanced" option Standalone. That will not interfere with your Stable browser profile.Okay, I'll test it out.
Thanks again for your help.Btw RAM Usage is rising again.

In this case I got Vivaldi on my second Monitor and was playing a game on my main Monitor.
So I thought Vivaldi might use much more Ram when not in focus. -
Seems to work much better with the 1.14.1042.3 (Build) (64-Bit)
RAM goes up to ~300MB then shrink. Didn't reach more then 500MB until now.
So far no stuttering, no huge RAM Usage and no dead birds.BTW is there a way to move all my extensions and stuff from my 1.13 version to the standalone 1.14 to test if those might interfere?

Stays in fullscreen about 270 MB on my tab.
Does not increase more.Did you try with vivaldi not in focus?

I might install everything in that standalone 1.14 snapshot, too and see.
thx.
So far 1.14 (standalone and clean) works much better for me then the latest 1.13 with my few extensions -

Consumption stays at ca. 250 MB after moere than 1,5 hours.
You have hardware acceleration enabled?
I did not. -

Yes, i had.
OK i will test without.Seems I also don't have the issue with HW acceleration enabled. But still stuttering when Vivaldi has no focus on the second Monitor

Now, i am on 540 MB (without HW accel). //UPDATE: Increasing 3 MB per sec!
Looks like the more chatters in chat timeline the more memory consumed. That looks interesting...
...If i recall correctly, when it comes to Dead Birds on my end, that could be the time when a streamer gets a host from an other streamer, which means instantly a lot more people join the channel. And there are options to let you scroll back the chat for more then 150 lines. this options could be set a way higher, too. Maybe that's another thing.
//EDIT:
It seems the stuttering happens only on a 60FPS stream.
...I have a decent internet connection, so that can't be a culprit. -
@gwen-dragon said in Since update to 1.13.1008.36 (Stable channel) (64-Bit) - stuttering videos:
now 1500 Mb after 30 minutes.
There is a huge memory consumption with this livestream.I confirmed your bug internally.
VB-35725 "Ram Usage went up to 2800MB at Twitch (HTML5 livestream)"It's not only that stream, it's all streams on twitch.
And it gets even worse when it's a 1080 OR a 720p Stream with 60FPS@gwen-dragon said in Since update to 1.13.1008.36 (Stable channel) (64-Bit) - stuttering videos:

So far no stuttering, no huge RAM Usage and no dead birds. So, be happy! Good to hear.
Sadly, the stuttering is still real

On 1.14 with or without HW accel?

Forgot to disable UI animation in 1.14?
Animation is disabled.
I have stuttering since the last 1.13 update and it's there in the 1.14
with or without HW accel.
60FPS streams skip a lot of frames, which wasn't the case in the version before. It's better, but still skipping/stuttering when Vivaldi got focus but without focus it almost render the stream a still imagemaybe you want to have a look here: https://www.twitch.tv/twistonfire/
