Tab Cycler selecting wrong tab, any way to fix?
-
Using Right Click + Scroll to use the tab cycler will make the wrong tab active if you have the mouse over one of the thumbnails. I'm not really sure why it's switching to the mouseover tab instead of the tab that was selected. Is this a setting anywhere or is this a bug? It was very confusing trying to figure out why it was switching to random tabs.
Edit: maybe a little more clear.
If you right click and scroll the tab cycler window pops up, which is just a horizontal box of 7 tab thumbnails. The selected tab's thumbnail is in the center, highlighted in blue. Scrolling changes the selection by cycling through the thumbnails so that a different tab is in the center selection area. Releasing the right click button selects that tab. But if the mouse pointer happens to be over one of the other thumbnails it will select that one instead of the one that was selected by scrolling to it. This is especially a problem when using it quickly and the mouse pointer happens to be in the area of the screen that the tab cycler window appears, since it will select whatever tab happens to have its thumbnail there instead of the tab that was selected by scrolling through the thumbnails.

Are you cycling your tabs in recently used order?
Check Settings --> Tabs --> Tab Features / Tab Cycling.
If so, then perhaps cycling in Tab Order is what you are looking for.

@caine I am cycling in recently used order, but that is what I want. It's a little weird to explain. If you right click scroll the tab cycler window pops up, which is just a horizontal box of 7 tab thumbnails. The selected tab's thumbnail is in the center, highlighted in blue. But if the mouse pointer happens to be over one of the other thumbnails it will select that one instead of the one that was selected by scrolling to it.

Ok, I think that I get what you are saying.
You can actually left-click on a thumbnail in the tab cycler to switch to that tab. Hence, the focus of the thumbnails follows your cursor. So, it seems to be intentional. I do not know of an option to change that.

@caine Yeah, but I'm not left clicking, the mouse is just there on the screen, so it shouldn't affect it. This is definitely something new that started happening in this version.
Thank you for the help, looks like it's not an options thing. I reported it as a bug.

3 months, and this still hasn't been fixed?!?
It's really hurting the user experience, as a user.
What can one do, to make Vivaldi make this bug a priority? -
