Can't install Vivaldi
-
I had to reinstall Windows 10 recently. I forgot how to take ownership of the C drive. As a result, my current attempts have failed and I can't install Vivaldi. I have taken ownership and added my account with Full Control but the problem persists.
I can't tick the inheritance option in Advanced Security Option because thrice it has led to text going missing and me having to reinstall Windows 10. (Laziness)

@kanishknishar For now, until you fix your broken OS, you should be able to install it as a standalone (advanced install options) on any drive you have full ownership of.
-
@ayespy How is my OS broken? I have installed Office and other softwares through Vivaldi. The permsision problem would exist even after standalone installation. Can you give me a fix for the deeper problem?
-
@kanishknishar Did I misunderstand? Didn't you say you could not take ownership of your C: drive? That means that for some purposes, your OS is broken.
-
I can't get it to work some things. A bit blunt of you but OK. Do you know how I could take ownership of C drive?
-
@kanishknishar I should think the normal procedure for Windows 10 ought to work, so long as yours is an administrator profile.
Be prepared to wait a long time for the system to transfer ownership to you. It has to do it one file and folder at a time. It can be a long wait.

Problem solved! I suppose restarting did the trick.

@ayespy Thank you for your replies.
