This crashes Vivaldi.1.14.1030.3 x64 version every time!
-
I have tested this now three times and each time it crashes (I'm on Windows 10 Fall Creators 1703)
- Do a Google search for 'Happy Birthday Lorraine'.
- Click on Images and then click on the 4th image to the right (see below)
- Once the image has been clicked on. Right click on the image to save it.
- No dialogue box box comes up....Vivaldi crashes!!
After the first time it happened Vivaldi failed to restart completely. A reboot did not help. I deleted the program (I use
the portable option) reinstalled copied my original App Data and it's now working again (although the program still crashes on right clicking the picture).I think this is a bug. Can someone else try it? (https://goo.gl/oCRDbu)!

No crash here. The image was saved successfully.
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit • Snapshot 1.14.1030.3 (64-bit)
-
@pesala That's interesting. Are you running the Portable version like me???
-
@callmesteven There is no portable version. I am running the Standalone installation.
I also tried expanding the image flyout too, and downloading from that. I noticed that it had no *.jpg extension, but it was a JPG image. Renaming fixed that problem.
-
@pesala There is a portable stand alone way to install under 'Advanced' setting on the installation .exe. maybe the issue is not there a full install. Anyone else running a standalone 1.14.1030.3 x64 with the above issue?
-
I can not confirm aswell, no crash, image saved.

There is a Standalone option, which is what I am using. It is not a Portable installation.
-
@ian-coog Using Stand Alone or Full Install??
-
normal install, both on win7 (32bit) and win10 (64bit)
-
@ian-coog Okay thanks. Looks like it may only effect the Stand Alone. maybe someone else will confirm it. (Until
Sync is perfect I prefer to have backups via a Portable Version) -
RESOLVED...The extension 'Data Saver' from [here](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/data saver?hl=en is the culprit.)
I installed the full version of 1.14.1030.3 and disabled all the extensions and right clicked the picture (as indicated above). The problem was gone until I enabled the 'Data Saver' extension. Issue resolved!
Thanks for the feedback.
Oh sync is not quite there yet. Extensions were synched correctly but non of my tabs or my colour theme was restored.
-
@callmesteven Color theme and such settings are not included in sync yet. Tabs do not passively "sync" from one instance to another. Rather, they are accessible via the little cloud icon at the end of the tab bar, after they are synced. This way you are not forced to use up your tab bar accommodating all the tabs from every instance you have, at once.

plenty of users fell already in that trap. -
@ayespy Thanks very much...very interesting. Just retesting Vivaldi after a while so missed the post about Data Saver & synching.
-
@ian-coog Thank you
