change adressbar color

Re: Address bar background colour.
how do i make the adressbar color be automatic so it follows the color around.
-
You want the accent color from active page to apply to your tabbar and addressbar?
-
I'm not quite sure I understand, but:
You could use the variables set in vivaldi that follow the browser theme, or make it transparent so whatever colour is behind it is the one that is shown in the containing element.
-
@lonm so i can remove the white entirely and just have a floating text?
-
Sure you can, the background color of the addressbar will shine through.
.addressfield {background-color: transparent;}
-
@luetage so there is no way to remove the white entirely so that the text just sits ontop of the solid color?
-
I really don't know what you want. Behind the address field is the address bar. So if we make the address field transparent, you see the color of the address bar, which is in fact a solid color.
-
let's say the browser is red from visiting youtube, now instead of a big white box behind the text, the text is just ontop of the red, just like the title text is.
to put it simple i would like to replace the titletext with the url text, or even better have the title text to then press on it to reveal the url.
-
Yeah, if you have "accent color from active page" activated in your theme, and if you use the code from above, your address field text will sit on top of youtube red.
You should really just use the code and try it out yourself. If you don't manage to implement it, all the advice is pretty pointless.
-
@luetage i am still trying to figure out how to implement it could you give me a really simple guise?

Just follow the instructions. -
