Blank Speed Dial windows
-
I'm used to the speed dial "windows" in Firefox and Opera showing some sort of image, but Vivaldi just has a blank space with a title until the speed dial entry is used. I find those blank spaces staring at me when I open Vivaldi a little disconcerting. Is there any way to have them show an image?

@jfh There are a few Start Page background images you can choose from in your Menu/Tools/Settings/Start Page settings, and you will see there that you can also choose and set a custom image should you wish to. Of course to use images, you have to turn that setting on at that location as well.

If you hover your mouse over the speed dial entry, you should notice a little circular arrow looking button in the lower right-hand corner. Click on that and it'll fetch an overview of the webpage immediately, instead of waiting until you visit.
Just above that is a little "+" that you can use to put a custom image in place of the thumbnail Vivaldi creates. It's useful for those sites (like NHK Japan's news portal) that just show a blank white image instead of a screenshot.
Hope that helps !
