New version problems
-
New version breaks all Actual Tools widgets in Windows. It also adds a space-wasting "toolbar" for the "V" emblem/menu -- even when Cntrl F11 is selected.
This needs to be rectified, or I need to leave this browser.
-
It also no longer opens in the position it was in when closed, which was not a problem until this version.

Yep. In fact, it is virtually impossible to get it to open correctly and fill my monitor's screen. The Windows control buttons no longer work on this version. It was opening in a very tiny screen. Now it is opening a gigantic screen that covers my Windows task bar and it has BROKEN Windows control buttons.
I can't use it like this. I'm writing this from the new Basilick browser but I'd like to get Vivaldi working properly as I really like it.

I don't know what is happening with some users, but for me Vivaldi is working fine, quick and flat like baby butt! all features are working even those i don't use ^^'
-
For me extensions started crashing and images look like they're in 16-bit colours or something.

@shadess Have you tried it with a fresh profile?
-
@teve That forum URL works fine here.
-
@teve The http://forum.mjf.no/ URL works fine here, but the original longer URL does not on IE, Edge, and Vivaldi 1.13 Stable.
-
I get »403 forbidden - Access denied« using both url, the short and the long one.
-
@rwbrf Perhaps the problem is related to geography.
-
http://forum.mjf.no - not work in vivaldi latest. Works with some of previous.
Change latest part of useragent from Vivaldi/1.94.1008.30 to Vivaldi/1.94.1007.30 and it works.
Also https://forum.mjf.no/pm_new_message_form.asp?code=reply&pm=16171 works, if you change it to http.
If you registered on forum.mjf, better to talk with admin of forum. -
It's interesting to see that people are having problems with the window control buttons. They worked fine for me until I tried a
Simulate browser restart
.As I mentioned in the release thread,
@sjudenim said in Vivaldi 1.13 adds Window Panel, improves Downloads and brings under-the-hood enhancements:
Simulate browser restart is completely broken. This was an issue in the snapshots as well. It doesn't restart at all and worse yet, it renders the menu and window control buttons completely unusable (they do not respond). The right click menu won't even pop open
Reported asVB-34851
I mentioned this too, but wasn't given an answer
Also, why was the "Add new speed dial folder " button removed from the speed dial (nav bar)? Now it takes more steps to do this. Lastly, the new svg icons in the navbar do not line up properly with the text on my system.

http://forum.mjf.no site not working here either if it's supposed to.

I shall try.

One of the sites I use is based on WebWiz Forum software and I get the "403 forbidden - Access denied" message
This only happened after the 1.13 upgrade. It works OK with other browsers ~ Safari, Chrome (I'm using a Mac) so not operating system specific? To make sure it isn't my site, I went onto the WebWiz demo site - http://demo.webwizforums.com/ and get the same
I also tried the above site (http://forum.mjf.no/) in the previous post and get the "403 forbidden - Access denied" too
What has changed in Vivaldi to cause this error?

What has changed in Vivaldi to cause this error?
The User Agent, as already stated in some posts above; by changing it to chrome with user agent switcher extension, the site is visible. I just took the SAME user agent string from Vivaldi and removed the last part "Vivaldi/1.94.1008.32"
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.97 Safari/537.36There is some wrong UA detection in that site.
