Is there a way to set a keyboard shortcut to "copy page address"?
-
Currently not, you can make a feature request in the forum thread.
a workaround can be F8 + Ctrl-C + Esc / Ctrl-L + Ctrl-C + Esc -
@ian-coog This of course does not work when I browse without navigation bar or in full screen. A separate keyboard shortcut is necessary.

Try right-click, copy page address.

@gwen-dragon I like to consider myself moderately tech-savvy, but I can't figure out how to add anything to that thread. Where do I type?
And right now I cannot even add this post: "Error As a new user, you can only post once every 240 second(s) until you have earned 2 reputation - please wait before posting again"
New user? Are you kidding me? I am among the very first joiners here, long before Vivaldi browser was released.

This is exactly what we should not be required to do. Keyboard people and mouse people are different people. They should both get things done in their respective ways.

There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don't.
I am just saying, there is a way to copy the page address in fullscreen mode. Currently, Ctrl D does not work to open the bookmark dialogue in fullscreen mode. A load of other shortcuts also fail.

@gwen-dragon My overall request is generic, simple and, I think, obvious: Every explicit action or function that the browser does should be accessible as
- a keyboard shortcut
- menu item
- toolbar button
- mouse gesture.
Every action in all these ways. No exceptions. Just like in old Opera. I'm sure this has been requested before. If this has not reached the developers yet or has not been upvoted enough to merit implementation, I will simply stick to some other browser, because that's what I need all the time every day, not hopefully some time in the future. This is why I still use old Opera and I constantly compare other browsers against it.
I don't think this is something obscure or impossible. It's plain and obvious and I wonder why it's not there already. It's a matter of general UI and accessibility philosophy that was nicely in place during the old Opera era. This philosophy either has or has not been carried over to Vivaldi. It's not up to a user request.

@ersi I think all of these issues are covered in one way or another in previous feature requests, not only in the most recent thread either.
Opera took 20 years of development to get to 12.18 before it branched off to Opera 15. Vivaldi is only about 3 years old. We will have to wait at least a couple more years yet before we get even half of the desired feature requests.
Add/Remove Buttons is is near the top of the most popular feature requests

It took much less to get to version 7 where the described UI philosophy went to full bloom. Vivaldi developers either have the same perspective or not. It's futile to hope that some substantial policy guideline would be drawn from user requests (indeed it would be sad if user requests had that effect).

Very often, I want to copy the address of a Background Tab. A shortcut won't work for that. Vote for this post:
