Catweazle was here :p

Yes, I recommend AdwCleaner, but seeing that the partner uses Linux, it was not the right advice
But neither is it very difficult to remove a highjacker manually.
It is uninstalled as a normal program, just keep in mind that it also in the shortcuts of browsers, which must also be deleted. Then you just delete it in your browser settings -
In some cases only the shortcut (.lnk file extension) is modified by adding an URL, which not applies to Linux.
-
In Windows it is also advisable to clean the registry (with Glary Utilities, CCleaner or similar)
-
In Windowz File System has a nasty "feature*, the data is not written close enough. Hence, it's mandatory to run an utility (forgot the name) and it can take hours running.

In Windows it is NOT advisable to clean the registry and if you do, you should do it manually
Fixed that for you.

Ehm, cleaning the Windows registry manually requires knowing very well that entries can be deleted, which is not always very clear, having entries specified with a hexagesimal number.
Very easy to disable the system.
It is true that you should not touch the registry with any utility and no more than on essential occasions, for example after some malware. But if you use trusted tools, such as those mentioned, because before changing anything, they make a backup to restore the registry if something goes wrong, although it has never happened, neither with Glary nor with the CCleaner.

Not really. It depends on your needs. I remember one thing. only editing the regedit (deleting the entry) was possible to remove a software from the start up. As a rule of thumb, back up file first.

Exactly, of course the proramas in the registry are specified with their name and if it is a superfluous or dangerous program, it can naturally be eliminated with the regedit.
But apart from this entry there are others of this program that do not come with the name, but with an incomprehensible abbreviation and with some numerical specification, that if it is not discovered or can be identified, they remain as a residue in the registry, which at worst of cases can destabilize the system, especially if it was the product of a malware program.
This is why it is better to use a good program that correctly identifies not only the specific malware entry, but also all other related entries. Very difficult, but impossible to do well manually.
I bet if you review your registration with the Glary, I'm sure you'll get a ton of wrong entry and garbage, if so far you have only cleaned it by hand. -
It was a long, long time ago. Microsoft added many "features" since the last time I used Windowz.
Do you have Firefox installed? What is your opinion about a so called Open Source Software use Trademark that includes the name, icons etc? -
Open Source does not exclude having a registered trademark or patents. Vivaldi himself is an OpenSource browser, but with the Tetschner patent. And say that, even if you have the code in sight, you can not create a clone and attribute the merit, which Tetschner and the users naturally deserve.
I have also installed Firefox, among others, and I use it for some things. I think it is a good browser, but although it states in its latest version more speed, it does not reach the speed of Vivaldi in navigation, which is quite noticeable with a not very large internet speed as I have it (ADSL 11 megas).
I use Windows 7 and I think it's not bad OS, it's fast and very stable. It has never caused me any problems, apart from the updates from time to time, which in Windows as always are somewhat slow and tedious, as the only criticizable point.
The strong point of Windows, because there is no other OS with more OpenSource programs available, which is somewhat curious as well.
Including there is a version of Windows Open Source, which can use the programs of Microsoft, is called ReactOS, although it is still in alpha (community project)
Perhaps later may be an alternative interesting, for the moment can be an option as second OS -
I admire your persistence. It's a good sign.

What kind of ADSL, ADSL2, +2?
Very interesting, my connection is ADSL+2. can't complain. It's stable, don't remember the last offline issue.
Could you tell me your Downstream and Upstream?Edited: my speed is 5mb

It`s 2. The speed of 11 Megas is what the company says, but that is naturally only theoretical. and it varies a lot. Far from the 100 Megas that Asians have. You can test your speed f.ex. here http://speedtest.xfinity.com/

Well said. The Brazilian Internet is one of the most expensive with a bad performance. The infrastructure is old, inefficient. Plus the lack of skilled worker.
There's is a big difference between on the speed. The ISP claims your speed is 5mb. Not to mention the traffic shaping, blocking web sites and other dirty tricks. All those speed test are unreliable. Here my ADSL parameters:
ITU G.992.5
Upstream 574 kbps
Downstream 5663 kbps -
For the records: my so-called 5mb speed is due to an infrastructure limitation. If the distance between your home and a device called access multiplexer is greater than 2Km, the signal becomes unstable, weak, poor......

I think it's not for technical reasons, but to make browsing and downloading difficult, for not being able to control traffic in another way.
Above, with the lack of privacy you are forced to use VPN and other measures, which slow down navigation even more.
This is also a reason why I use Vivaldi, because with this I can navigate more fluently than with Mozilla, where you will surely notice a remarkable difference in comparison. -
We have both scenario in Brazil. Our technology is far from to being "sophisticated", on the other hand, there are the sharks which philosophy is making money is making sense.
