Thanks.
That's great, and answers my problem.
Presumably this very useful feature will stay in (minus the ability to crash/inhibit start-up). Will it report or notify suspect Extensions, and how? Once I have Extensions installed, reviewing them via the Tools>Extensions route isn't something I do very often, and some other popup or warning would alert me.

the proposed download in 1.12 stable it's still 1.12.955.42, shouldn't be 1.12.955.48 like the last weekend hotfix, or higher?
-
@harryhoudini: yes we intend to provide some UI for this in the future
-
@ian-coog: This is updated now
-
@gwen-dragon: actually we had the fix on Friday but we needed the testing over the weekend to be sure.

@blackbird: The related forum thread (https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/21789/vivaldi-1-12-955-42-won-t-open) stands as a classic illustration of a latent code bug appearing and being solved. If one wants a window into what happens in dealing with a coding bug that only appears on certain user systems, that thread is an excellent teaching example: a handful of partial, somewhat conflicting reports and discussion were followed by a rapid iteration of suggestions, trial versions, more partial, somewhat conflicting discussion and reports, and finally a working solution. I watched "from the sidelines" as this entire thing unfolded, and I was mightily impressed by the developers' ability to rapidly cut through the fog/uncertainty and converge on the underlying problem to work out a correct solution. A great job, Vivaldi folks!!

@blackbird I have no technical knowledge & skills whatsoever in this area, but my view from the outside of this recent problem, investigation & solution was one of sheer amazement... at the tremendous skill, energy & talent of the V Devs, & the [mostly] quite wonderful way in which the community cooperated & worked with the Devs in a symbiotic manner.
My delight in discovering & defaulting to V in Feb 2015 simply grows as the months roll by. Wonderful stuff.

@gwen-dragon
Ohi, o/
I'm on 7 x64
w/o extensions it seems to work.
w/ few extensions it doesn't work anymore ; just ublock+click&clean are sufficient to have a blank page or half loaded.
it has done the same since ages : (Thanks for your nice work guyz o/
waiting for integrated mail to remove Opera 12 from my computer : D -
@gwen-dragon
I already tried...
This doesn't seem related to one extension, but more to a "workload" of the extensions.
And this happens only when launching the application w/ this long url homempage ; loading the homepage after launch always works.
Thanks for your time o/ -
