Middle-click Focus New Tab?
-
Is there an option that when I middle click mouse on a link, that it opens in new Tab and switches to it immediately? I've searched and checked setting but just can't find it.

middle click is hardwired to open new tab in background, use shift+left click to always open in new focused tab

@bluet And for mouse-friendly folks, the right-click context menu entry to "Open Link in New Tab" switches focus to the new tab as well.

Thank you @iAN-CooG . That works. I tried shift+mid-click and that does too. It would be nice to just middle click though. I know it can be done. I'm a mouse kinda guy

I just read a blog that you can find the answer to anything. Enjoyed that post! Yes I am a mousie person .... also a bit lazy ... one click would be nice instead of two. I wonder if this has been requested as a feature .... hmmmm I may submit it. Thanks for the reply!

@bluet I lost count of how many times I saw this request, but there's already so many easy ways to open a link in a new foreground tab.
- Shift click
- Shift middle-click
- Right-click, open new tab
- Mouse gesture over the link (I use GestureDown for background tab because that's what I usually want for opening several links on a page. I use GestureDown, GestureUp to open a link in a new foreground tab)
Left-click is also fine. Even if it opens the link in the same tab, I often use that method, read the tab or copy what I want, then GestureBack to revert to the previous page in the same tab.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I knew about some of those. The mouse gesture works best for me. I like opening links without using keyboard. Thats me. The best way though would be ...... middle click! One click / one move. But I can live with two I suppose. A click and a little flick of the wrist.
