Vivaldi 1.11: Videos freezing (Win 10) [solved]
-
Since the latest patch videos on some pages cause the browser to freeze* and never load. Examples are facebook and udemy.com; youtube works, though. These videos load correctly on Firefox 55.0.3 (32-bit), though. Deactivating all my extensions didn't solve the problem, either.
Vivaldi had such a problem HTML5 videos causing the browser to freeze months, ago, but it was fixed at the time. So I couldn't find a solution and decided to open a new thread.
*(If I have youtube running on another tab or window the audio is playing but the browser is non-responsive and the video frozen.)
EDIT: Solution: type
chrome://settings/?search=hardw
in your address field, hit enter and deactivate "Use hardware acceleration when available". -
I solved the problem by deactivating "Use hardware acceleration when available".

Thanks for the info. I've updated the op to include your path to the settings.
