Vivaldi Customization
-
Hello! First post here. I wanted to know how to customize Vivaldi.
I mean, now I'd like to know how to change Start Page background
and thumbnails. I will post a picture as an example taken by Vivaldi.Edit: Unfortunately I can't upload a picture cause it says I do not have
enough privilegies to do that. Hope anyway someone will help me! -
use imgur and post the link here.
anyway to change start page background: menu tools/setting/startpage
vivaldi://settings/startpage/
thumbnails: you can customize the images with context menu (but not their size, so far) -
-
@rainmoonwolf You can set the background by going to settings > start page. Tick "show background image" and click the custom button to set your own one.
You can set speed dial thumbnails by right clicking a speed dial and choosing a thumbnail. There's also a button for that when you hover over a speed dial (which can be turned off if need be).
As for the exact images used, I'm not sure of their sources.

@ian-coog Ps. If you find this galaxy picture, I will be grateful!

@rainmoonwolf The bg image is here: https://vivaldi.com/press/wallpapers/vivaldi-stars.jpg

@lonm Yes, I know! But I want to customize the background with another picture and understand
how to make the thumbnails like in the picture I have posted before as an example taken by Vivaldi. -
@rainmoonwolf I think the vivaldi team custom made those particular thumbnails.
You could always to try to make your own using a program like paint or inkscape, or look in some of the speed dial thumbnail packs people have made on the forum.
Alternatively, if you have custom thumbnails that just set the icon of a page you could try adding a filter to them to reduce the colour in them to look more like the screenshot.

@lonm Do you think I can find those thumbnails used by Vivaldi?
-
@rainmoonwolf The thumbnails used by Vivaldi have been shared by the team. But what's the use? If you aren't using exactly the sites they have in the picture, it's completely superfluous trying to hunt them down.
More interesting is the theme used if you want the same look:
@aronand said in I'm creating some thumbnails for the Speed Dial, sharing ...:
Here is the theme @atlemo made for the 1.10 screenshot
Glad you guys are having fun with this!
