html.focus-outline-visible {background-color: black;}
body header {background-image: none;}
body {color: rgb(255, 255, 255);}
p.extension-description {color: white;}
h2.extension-title {color: white;}
a.options-link {color: white;}
a.permissions-link {color: white;}
a.options-button {color: white;}
button.show-button {display:none !important;} -
@johnnyfire As of right now the extensions page in use is the one developed by chrome, and it hasn't been ported to vivaldi (yet). Therefore, the only way to add custom styles to it would be to package the style into some sort of extension rather than a vivaldi-style mod.

Use https://github.com/hbt/chromedotfiles. To inject into chrome urls it needs chrome://flags/#extensions-on-chrome-urls to be enabled, or you can start Vivaldi with the parameter --extensions-on-chrome-urls. Currently it adds chrome.css to every chrome url. I opened an issue with code to add hostname-specific css with the extension if you're interested.
You can also inject css into chrome urls with normal js mods using chrome.tabs.executeScript, and it doesn't need the above flag. I tried chrome.tabs.insertCss and tried inserting css or js files - they didn't work for some reason. I made this script:
https://github.com/Sporif/CustomHooks/blob/master/hooks/theme-css-variables.js
so I can use the current theme's css variables with chromedotfiles.https://github.com/Sporif/CustomHooks/blob/master/hooks/chrome-webstore-css.js
allows you to theme https://chrome.google.com/webstorethank you so much for the respond to my request!!!! but i have problems to get it working i do the usual steps but something i miss...
if you may, can you quide me on this please? -

@johnnyfire Sure, just tell me exactly what you tried.
i as the js line to the browzer one and add the code to the css, at least that i understand the js its kinda hard for me mate!

Hmm, you probably should take a look at how to implement a javascript file in the instructions here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/10549/modding-vivaldi?page=1

@johnnyfire as a last resort you could try this: https://superuser.com/questions/591089/hack-chrome-to-show-its-internal-pages-with-black-background although that article is several years old and may no longer work.

I like the idea a lot.
I only miss a point: 1) enable flag; 2)install chromedotfiles; 3)hook sporif js but.. where the customized style go and how?
(Found the way. White-rabbit hole.) -
@johnnyfire Maybe this one? Its very slightly newer and the method seems more concrete. https://superuser.com/questions/730265/applying-custom-style-to-internal-chrome-pages
[note that I would advise removing the
key
from that example.] -
@lonm I'm trying last method.. it works on extension page, but isn't hooked in download page.. could be done?
Only :root values seems to be hooked (but maybe it's how it works) -
@hadden89 You mean the newer material designed chrome://downloads page? I have no idea if thats possible, as looking at the source for that page seems to indicate that a lot of custom chrome stuff is going on.
-
@lonm these methods actually works in MD extension page
so I guess they should work also in new MD download page(it works)
But they seems to affect only :root on extension page - so the "tiles" can't be changed - but could be my fault also.
I know for sure these works even if they ignored (but hooked) in chromium md download page which seems to search:host
for visual changes. Orhtml
, maybe?
Probably,a reference for MD colour switches will help, can be seen in dev tools.
It's quite confusing but also nice see some progress in styling internal pages.//EDIT: Updated code in next post.

//EDIT: Updated again for chr64/viv1.4

say what???? im so confused right now
