Vivaldi Store and PayPal
-
Not really Forum Feedback, but didn't find a more suitable place...
Yesterday I tried to order a Vivaldi hoodie from the Vivaldi Shop.
Vivaldi Shop uses PayPal as the payment handler, and I am not a fan of PayPal, never had an account and won't be making one either.
Check-out page says "Pay via PayPal; you can pay with your credit card if you don’t have a PayPal account." so ok, that's good then. Except that it is not, if you don't have a PayPal account, you are just forced to make a PayPal account.
PayPal also demands your phone number and the permission to spam you with automated calls and SMS.
Quite unacceptable, so I cancelled the order. Which is a pity, since I would have liked to support Vivaldi and to have a new hoodie.
So could you change the payment handler or at least tell PayPal to actually to allow ordering from your shop with just credit card without forcing buyer to make a PayPal account, like the check-out page promises.
Also, next time you design hoodies, could they have a breast pocket or two?

@leevi Stripe.com is a good credit card processor.

Thanks for trying to get some merch, @Leevi !
When you select PayPal, on the second page you should be given a choice, either Log In or "Pay by Card" (the gray button). Are you not getting that? -
This is what I get after hitting the Proceed to Checkout button on the Vivaldi Store Cart page
I fill in the card details, hit the Agree & Continue and it just demands me to make the PayPal account. There is no bypassing it as far as I can see. Just ticking the Terms and Conditions checkbox doesn't help either, they really want people to make their damned PayPal account.

Hey Vivaldi.net team! I think the best for-privacy solution would be to allow payments with cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Litecoin, et caetera).
