Where is the download status bar?
-
Hi,
just moving from Firefox to Vivaldi. All fine — until made my first download. A huge and ugly panel opens up. What?
For Firefox I used an extension to see downloads as a separate status bar — https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net/user-media/previews/full/122/122733.png?modified=1400691887
From what I know Chrome also has this, it's even built-in.
The Vivaldi browser uses a giant sized panel for this. 15% of my screen is gone just to show a horizontal status bar in a vertical panel. When I saw this I hated it immediately.
It is taking precious screen space on my laptop. I also don't want a notification, and I don't want to leave that panel open to see the progress. I require a download status bar. You see the progress of each download, and when it's done it silently turns green. When It's done, I click it. Download opens, and the status for that download disappears. Something like this.
How can I get that?

You can disable the panel from opening up, Tools > Settings > Downloads > Open Download Panel Automatically < Un-check it.

Yes, I did that immediately. But then I don't see a progress bar anywhere. And I don't see when it's done (without getting an annoying notification).
I am looking for a permanent download status in the status bar.

@ratti That's currently not possible. Write a feature request.
