Redo didn't work
-
I just lost a text "thanks" to this bug. sigh. I right click the text field and the Redo option is grayed out. grumble mumble
-
Hi, I am not sure if I understand but you can only Redo if you use Undo before.
Cheers, mib

There is only one item in the undo/redo history.

Gosh that ... is not so good (being very polite here). I sure hope they change this.

@Gwen-Dragon In Opera 12.17, for example, I can cut a sentence, paste it three times, then repeatedly undo each paste, and finally the cut. I can then redo the cut and each of the three paste operations. This is similar to Notepad.
Vivaldi's text editor can only redo a single undo operation.

@Gwen-Dragon Would it actually be a bug or instead a feature request? In older Notepad versions (eg: Win7's), there is only one level of undo that acts as an undo/redo toggle, similar to a variety of other older software. The appearance of multiple undo/redo is a relatively new arrival (Win8 era?), and requires more program coding/storage-space than a single level, so it may actually represent a feature change or addition for Vivaldi at this point.

@Blackbird It is now a feature request.

I think a proper, 21st century Undo would definitely act as an attraction point for Vivaldi. But so will at least some sort of return for Opera's undo close tab feature that was actually restoring text you had typed in text fields (except passwords). That was a YUUUUUUUUUUUUGE life saver when it came to mistakenly navigating away or closing tabs . I can pretty much guarantee that if Vivaldi gets that feature, heads of state across the world will switch to it . And you know, in this day and age, having "the stars of showbiz" on your side matters more than any promotion
-
@Axonn I bet Trump would definitely want that feature. Unfortunately, it doesn't work after you submit a post.
