Vivaldi shows white screen when open
-
Vivaldi now just shows a blank white window when I open it. The controls in the menu bar are there, and the Dock indicates that it is open. I have tried quitting the process in Activity Manager, but when I open it again it still shows a blank white window.

@Birch-Tree Are you able to go into Vivaldi / Preferences... and select (Startup with) Start Page in your Startup Settings to see if that makes any difference?
-
... and if that doesn't make any difference, are you able to go the Bookmarks page using either Tools / Bookmarks or Control-Command-B?
-
@xyzzy The controls in the menu bar are all greyed out.
-
@Birch-Tree Wow, not good! Let's check to make sure that your Vivaldi installation didn't get corrupted. Could you please open Terminal.app and enter the following command:
spctl -a -vv /Applications/Vivaldi.app/
You should get output that looks like this:
$ spctl -a -vv /Applications/Vivaldi.app/ /Applications/Vivaldi.app/: accepted source=Developer ID origin=Developer ID Application: Vivaldi Technologies AS (4XF3XNRN6Y)
You don't need to be an admin to do this. spctl uses macOS's security assessment policy subsystem to validate the application bundle, essentially doing the same integrity checks as Gatekeeper.

@xyzzy Yes, output matches

@Birch-Tree Well, that's at least some good news. Did this just happen out of the blue, after an upgrade, or after installing an extension? This is truly bizarre. The obvious next step would be to clean/refresh your Vivaldi profile. In a default install on macOS, your Profile Path should be:
~/Library/Application Support/Vivaldi/Default
It also wouldn't hurt to reboot your system, just to make sure that there aren't any stray processes kicking around.

@xyzzy Thanks a lot! It worked!

Just so it's known that this is not an isolated incident, I had the same issue on first install. Exactly as described above but deleting the Default profile folder did not fix the issue.
