Feature requests for 1.11
-
An option in the tab menu to lock the Vivaldi window. It has an option like the Tab Mix Plus extension for Firefox. It does not allow to move the window by clicking twice above the address bar the window does not move.
-
Keyboard shortcut to pin all tabs and unpin all tabs.
And also I can not select tabs and pin (with keyboard shortcut, only works with the first tab selected) -
More options for adjusting the Speed Dial image.
Something like the image below ... Image -
Option to remove history from the address bar. Currently we can remove the typed history, it would be great to remove the history as well.

Lazy load tabs opened in the background (as an option)
Sometimes it would be handy to be able to open multiple tabs in the background without loading their contents right away and thus slowing down your network and computer. This should also apply (optionally) to opening multiple links at once from the bookmarks menu.
I really wanted that! Even more so because this extension Open link in new discarded tab does not work with Vivaldi and is not complete as the version for Firefox. Open link in silent tab

@ghpy I think third party extensions is not the solution. Fox example, Firefox has an ad blocking feature built in. You can manage the behaviour of this.
But in Vivaldi you need an extension developed by an enterprise or somebody. For me, it's not good. (sorry my English btw). -
Add a "Go"-Button to the Address Bar
A button you can press to open the address in the address bar.
This is useful when you are using the mouse with your right and type with the left hand or when using a Touchscreen, where you can paste/cut parts of the address via the context menu but can't press ENTER to go to this address. -
Add an option to always open links in a new tab/window/the same tab
An option where you can select whether all links should open in- the same tab
- a new tab
- a new window
-
Bookmarks Menu
-
Drag less used extensions on the extensions button which acts like a sub menu - so you can both see main extensions on urlbar and see the less used extension when you need them without clogging the urlbar.
-
Handle search field seperatly for each tab.
The search field shouldn't show the last search term from other tabs. -
webpage translation like we see in Chrome and Yandex Browser.
-
Bookmark bar enhancement:
1.) Middle mouse click on a bookmark subfolder should open all containing tabs.
2.) When opening a bookmark in a bookmark folder, the bookmark folder is getting closed. Would be great if it would stay open, so it would be possible to open more bookmarks at once.
3.) When opening a bookmark root folder, hovering the mouse cursor over another root folder should open it without the need of a second mouse click.
In short: Please take Opera's bookmark bar as an example. It has all three requested features implemented and has in my humble opinion the best bookmark bar of all popular browsers. Especially the first feature request is very important for me, cause it prevents me from using Vivaldi as my main browser.

Extending on this, we could even imagine multiple extension drawers : like the extension button, only there would be several of them, so you could mask all, or some, or no extensions at all.
Or, a 3-state extension button : All open, All closed, frequent extensions only (displays main extensions in the bar and others appear for example on hover)

Vivaldi's Dedicated Downloads Page.
Chrome seems to have it's own dedicated downloads page, which Vivaldi uses as part of Chromium. Every browser seems to have it's own set of dedicated pages. So while I don't care if Vivaldi's is attached to the Startpage, at least having Vivaldi's personal downloads page would help complete the set and differentiate Vivaldi further from other browsers.
-
Vivaldi's Dedicated Extensions Page.
We normally manage our extensions through Chromium's extension page, which fits into their design theme, but not into Vivaldi's. Other browsers, like Firefox and Opera, have their own extension pages as well that are made for their browsers. It would be great if Vivaldi would have the same for it's own browser, where we can manage extensions in a powerful way that's designed with Vivaldi's UI.
-
@D0J0P Probably, vivaldi download page is not so far - they just have to add some enhancement and then push to a vivaldi:// page.
About extension page, I guess they'll need a bit more time, or stick with new material UI if allow style changes.
They need time to do a cool page like history, which was one of the worst thing about chromium core -

I think to do this you have to pay Google. (I may be very wrong), maybe in the future may have this. For now you can use the web panel with Google Translate or some extension to do this. I use this : Google Translator
-
Disable changing unsupported flags like the ones about nacl, (google) sync, bookmarks and history (which vivaldi don't use).
But actually, I don't know if chromium would allow this. -

Cookie Whitelist in vivaldi://settings/
And icon in urlbar (under lock, maybe?); manually whitelisting things could be annoying
