@newscpq That's not my experience.

Thanks for confirming that they work on Linux. I'll give you a prize too! Please don't throw them at me...
Ahem. This is quite funny [i have been cacking myself here ... oh dear, it seems that word is unknown on the web, so non-aussies who didn't grow up in the 70s won't understand; it means laughing uproariously], but i suspect what i'm about to write might only annoy everyone who tried valiantly to help me see... SEE, these mythical tab animations.
Oh dear, here goes. Tonight i discovered them. I can see them now. They do exist after all. And actually, they're quite nice Oh dear. I seem to have exceeded even my own previous world-class ability to not notice things right in front of me. All this time [this is embarrassing to admit] i was actually, simply, looking in the wrong place in the tab bar.
Mea culpa. Sorry for my blindness. Ta for helping, all.

Hmmm. I have a double entry Vivaldi in "System Preferences" --> Messages" on Mac OS Sierra. for Notification Area. Snapshot 1.10.845.3.

@13.beta2
Can confirm on Windows 10 as well.
-
Has to do with browsers all...just wondering how it will effect Viv. A windows security program said that, as I understand, to the new secure Windows called 10S will not support any but Edge browser. Any dirt on that? If so more reason to go to Linux.
-
@Dovelove My understanding is that other browsers are not explicitly forbidden on Windows 10s but (as it currently stands) only Edge can be the default browser.
Edit: Confirmed in the Win 10s FAQ... and that third-party browser must be installed from the Windows Store.

@xyzzy Other browsers are allowed, but like iOS other rendering engines are not. So no Vivaldi for Win10S. (And no Firefox)
-
@An_dz Holy , you're right... My apologies! It's quite clear in the Windows Store policy in section 10.2.1:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn764944.aspxI thought that Microsoft had reversed course on this but obviously not.
-
@xyzzy @An_dz @Dovelove Wow!!! OMZ. Looks like we in the Linux multiverse can soon expect to welcome a new group of Windows refugees. I'll go make up the spare beds now & put the kettle on...

@YamiryuuZero Thank you for the perfect explanation kind person

@Steffie You better wait sitting. Windows 10S is just the counter-attack on Chromebooks, even MS was not expecting people liked so much.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4020089/windows-10-s-faqFYI: I usually don"t put up BS...not accusing you of accusing me of that. If I'm not sure of source I don't post. I think MS is shooting themselves I surmised this and people called me an old fogy. More worse to come because people don't value their privacy! They prefer a social media ad store and egos.

I'm having issues with Udemy videos. Occasionally a video will refuse to appear in 720p quality even though it's selected. In Chrome it works fine. Anyone can confirm?
Vivaldi 64bit/ WIn 10

@zorro: Can confirm this issue (VB-28542) on MacOS. Maddening.
-
the badge info on the Vivaldi over the top... and please make it when you on Vivaldi page stated "Your are viewing Vivaldi secured page" k.

I noticed Jon joined in on privacy. You can be identified by fingerprint, facial ,voice, gait in walking etc. and you gladly gave them the tools to do it because you were to lazy to push a button ...gee I don't understand.

Can you make more choices for those who have a slow internet connection? How to remove images from: vivaldi: // bookmarks /
The bookmark image is generated from the tab and saved locally so there's no internet connection involved. Only if you click the button to regenerate a new thumb then it will really re-download the page.
As well as making the browser something not so heavy and with so many effects and animations that do not make the actual functionalities. Remember Opera 12 please!
This is hard because the team is small so they don't mess much with the Chromium part. Opera 12 was built with performance in mind, Chrome not. Chrome is a ripoff from Safari, which in turn is also terrible on performance, which is a ripoff from KHTML which was not that awesome when Apple forked it. Chrome is good with JavaScript though, but JS is just one layer of a browser.
Anyway the team works on them. Recently in internal builds the devs made Quick Commands great again, new features and improved performance.

Hey... Dems' fightin' words! You can talk crap about Chrome all you want and I'll agree with you 100%. Safari is lightweight by comparison... and definitely doesn't "stink" as much now as it used to!

Dems' words to salivate over! Do you mean the massive lag when entering text in F2 has been fixed? I'd so like to be able to type in the field to search rather than type text elsewhere and paste it into the search field. Now me eager for me eager for next snapshot.
