@icepanther: Yeah, it's a joke site You can see more at bad.horse directly, doing a traceroute to the site too
(just in case, it's from Dr Horrible Sing-along Blog)indeed, the site admins were thorough with their joke !
(I knew I remembered a "bad horse" song from... somewhere...)
@Rexfahrer said in Badge fix – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.9.818.3:
@Cqoicebordel Type badidea and Vivaldi will disable the warning for this site.
Wow, talk about an undocumented feature (or bad UX, as @Cqoicebordel said).
-
@cqoicebordel: This has actually been around for a while. The bypass word used to be danger, and the obscure feature was almost removed altogether because it had become publicized and people were using it without thinking about (or knowledge of) the potential consequences.

@ruario: Me too. I was closing a handful of tabs (⌘W) and then the crash occurred when I closed the last tab that had an active web page. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but it was a tab that had been open for a while. No extensions installed.
-
@saudiqbal: Yes,please fix it. For some reason,Fair AdBlocker (by STANDS) is not working either.
-
@vtomilin: Then I strongly suspect you are the only one. Are you sure you are up to date and what site are you testing on?
-
@cqoicebordel: I am reading it
-
It crashes often while closing tabs.

Since the previous snapshot I have the problem that most of my company internal sites are reported as "Privacy Error" "NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID".
Chrome, Safari and Firefox all report these sites as green/trusted, so they seem to have valid certs.
Even more problematic, the links in the "Privacy Error" tab that appears then can't be clicked, so I can't click on "Advanced" and then on "Proceed to...". However tab + space + return allows me to proceed, not nice though (Latest Vivaldi Snapshot on latest macOS) -
@ruario: Was just making sure, there is so much to read here
-
@xyzzy: Wasn't aware of that, at all. It's very interesting, thank you, but I think it is thoroughly the wrong approach.
It's a feature useful, so they implemented the keyword, but it shouldn't be used, so they didn't document it. That doesn't make sense.
They shouldn't force security down our throat. -
@reiner1302 As I can't find any similar problem reports in the forum so far - did you already filed a bugreport? If no you maybe want to do so because your problem seems to be not very widespread so maybe the developers don't even know about this yet.
You can file a bugreport here: https://vivaldi.com/bugreport -
@Cqoicebordel I agree, to a certain extent. However, I also see the security purists' point of view -- In this situation, they didn't want to implement a UI for people to bypass a specific severe security alert. Using this "emergency bypass" casually or routinely is like using a penny to replace a burnt out fuse.

I would like to let you know, about the tab closing problem, on OS X, that I'm using BetterTouchTool, an app that allow to simulate key shortcuts with Touchpad gestures, and I can close all my tabs without any problem using those gestures.
The problem occurs only while trying to press CMD + W by myself.
-
@shoust: I second this.
-
@serpher: Me too but it is very intermittent. I tried everything and it comes and goes as it wishes... Really hard to track or determine something...

After opening a second window, vivaldi can not connect to any site any more (in neither window). This happens with private and public windows
Happens most of the time with me (about one of ten tries the second window will "work").
Closing all windows and restarting vivaldi is the only way I know to reset the error condition. Is not new to this version, but seem to happen more offen.
W7 64Bit
Has anybody else seen a similar effect or is it just me?Wolfgang

@gwen-dragon:
Just noticed another odd thing, which may be related:
I played around some more and noticed that after opening the second window a program named "smartdraw" was automaticlly started, but some internal references seem to be wrong (did not find its license key)
There is a program named smartdraw but it is running fine and the license key is alright.
After killing smartdraw I closed vivaldi.
After restart vivaldi it was impossible to open any site (even in first window). I closed vivaldi again and noticed there were 5 instances of vivaldi in the process list
I killed them all.and restarted vivaldi. Seems to work again.
Any ideas?

Adding to my text:
First opening of second windwo worked fine. Closing second window and trying to reopen caused DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET againWolfgang

@Wolfgang From where did you download Vivaldi? It is recommended to get all programs directly from the Vendor.
