Custom JS as a gesture action
Please add a feature to execute custom JS code on mouse gesture. It is necessary for e.g. calling extension functions via events:var evt = document.createEvent("Events"); evt.initEvent("FastForward::combinedForward", true, false); document.dispatchEvent(evt);

Move close button to the left side when tabs on the left side
When the tabs are on the left side, the first thing your mouse encounters when you like to change a tab is the close button. So accidentally closing a tab is very common in that setup. Moving the close button to the left side also would prevent this. -
Classic browser titlebar with web page title and application icon
Please add document title and application icon to classic titlebar:
(original post) -
Horizontal sidebar header (like in Opera 12)
Please add an option to make sidebar header horizontal, it is much more compact than long vertical one.
(original post) -
Full-res bookmarks bar icons
-
It should be interesting if this function has an icon, just screencapture functionnality. Also interesting the function would activate just starting pressing the first key like in this firefox add-on findbar-tweak.
-
It may be a choice, so an option according users. The image coming from FireFox shows a lot search engines and this is not bad. Indeed, if you have more of them, I think a selection of them would be an interresting way too.

@Ainamacar You can still drag the links by moving your mouse vertically while holding LMB and select the text by moving your mouse horizontally (while holding LMB of course).

Adaptive thumbnail image for improving visualisation
example :
Thumbnails should be considered as play cards and their image become a symbol of the page to get easier the way to find it among all opened tabs, it is not necessary to search for the more realistic photography of the web page itself. It's a super icon like in Opera neon project.
The page with high colors should stay centered-photographized (like speed dial in the image above) and the white ant black text site like Wikipedia should have a bit algorithm improvement to make the final thumbnail image having more sense : for instance, adjust all image of the page, or select a part of the page, this one would represent better the site : generaly, it is the left high corner which looks the logo of the site and main titles.

Long mouse right click to open links in new activate tab
Classic right click still opens contextmenu, but if the mouse button stays pressed according to a bit of time, so you jump to the link, in a new tab, in the way you see the linked page but keep the first page opened for further readings.

Create option to force the badge-style audio indicator
Currently, if a tab has a large width and is sending audio, the favicon is completely replaced with an audio indicator. I much prefer the badge-style audio indicator that appears on top of small-width and pinned tabs, as this way you can still see the favicon of the tab.

Search field in settings view all passwords (like in view all saved cookies)
-
O12 like display of thumbnails of stacked tabs
(=bordered window with ~3-4 thumbnails per row and you can scroll down when there are lots of thumbnails) -
@dheeraj said in Feature requests for 1.9 / 1.10:
- Consumption of CPU is not low enough compared to chrome. Vivaldi keeps popping up at 20% every few seconds even when in the background and nothing visibly taking cpu, while chrome with the exact same set of tabs loaded, barely gets noticed and is at 1-3%.
You would have made it easier for the developers if you had mentioned your OS.
Are you sure it is Vivaldi and not some extension using the CPU? On my system (Linux) Vivaldi is shown using 0% CPU unless it is doing something. -
Show/Copy selected text as sourcecode , one of the reasons I open firefox alot.

Text only vertical tab cycler
The current tab cycler pop up uses thumbnails horizontally with the current selection in the middle and only displays the page title of the selected tab. A tab cycler like Opera (the real one) used to have, vertical list with just the page names, would be much easier to use and manage, especially with more than the 7 tabs the current cycler can display. -
@Boombastic No, I don't think that is a better idea, sync is not, and should not, be a replacement for proper export/backup solution.
For one thing one may not want its private data synched over the internet/stored in some random server, sync also doesn't cover offline/local storage, nor does it support retrieving your data to use elsewhere or export to other browsers.
Besides local backups should be a failsafe in case something goes wrong with synchronozation, or it is unavailable for any reason.
Bookmark export to HTML would ideally support saving descriptions, and most importantly nicknames, preferably in a Mozilla compatible format by storing the aliases in a
SHORTCUTURL="***"
tag, like Firefox currently does. -
When is in Status Bar option set: Show Status Info Overlay, then if you zoom the page with Ctrl + Mouse wheel or Ctrl + +/-, please add a popup overlay info with the current value of the zoom setting.

If save Tab Stack which is renamed for example Test name 1, and save it to bookmarks, it creates only a folder called Stack. Then again I must rename this folder in the bookmark manager. Please add a feature to automatically save rename the title tab stack.

Easy export/import/backup of user data
It would be great to be able to import/export/backup only some parts of the user's data (for example only the search engines).
I have mentioned this before in other feature request threads but I'll just leave it here again.
I still strongly believe that bookmark wildcards (as in interpreting
%s
in bookmark URLs as if they were regular search engines) like Firefoxe, should be supported.Not only is it a great way to have dynamic or modular bookmarks, it would be an excellent replacement/alternative for search engine storage.
As it currently stands they are apparently hard to backup and not only would this make it trivial to export and save, it would have the added benefit of making them easy to organize, sort, categorize into folders, like any regular bookmark would.
