Making news with Vivaldi – the best browser for journalists
-
@pafflick: good news
-
@mlazarenoc You will find some on YouTube
-
In the extension panel, when will Vivaldi get the option to hide even more buttons, but make them available in a dropdown : listing like Chrome? I would like a visual showing of all actively used extensions, then hide the passively and rarely used ones in a dropdown menu.
-
Looks like journalists do not use email so the email client is not implemented yet

So far, so good, Margarita. What I miss is a multi language spellcheck.
I mean in Vivaldi for Linux. On Mac I have the feature enabled by the OS.
It would be nice to have a fully customizable Language section. -
With Mozilla trying everything they can to cripple Firefox, the only thing that stops me from using Vivaldi as my default browser is its UI( not saying it's bad, just not my cup of tea). I heard that the UI of Vivaldi is in fact written in html+css. Is there a way to make it look like Opera 12(which in my humble opinion the pinnacle of browser UI design) ?

@nightson: have you tried our Themes? The Subtle theme is quite neutral.
-
@nightson You also maybe want to visit the forum section for modifications

Actually, it's very hard to research and check facts when links in Google search are not highlighted when you open them using gestures. Middle click works but I like gestures.

Thanks for this article.
There a lots of nice functons in Vivaldi that escape my notice until an usage experience report like this shows up.
Every time i read something like it, I find one or two jewels that I already had but did not see.
Keep on these user stories

@wolfgang: That's great to hear! Which one have you discovered in this article?
-
@margarita Very good article. Reminded me of some features I haven't been using - stacking and notes. Thanks. BW.

if you take a look of the iOS browser Grazing 3, it very much different than just a skin on Safari. Hopefully, we can see a Vivaldi version that is better than that

Now this post for me is a "deal maker" - as a part time journalist / photographer, the use case example within the Blog Post is Golden!
Thank you very much for the detailed presentation of how a Journalist can use the features in their day to day quest to cover stories and manage research which is core.
Keep up the great work team at Vivaldi !
