Show Extensions Visibility Toggle - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.7.715.3
-
To kick off the New Year we have a new snapshot, with a new option for those of you who are extensions fans but enjoy a clean browser interface. We also fixed a few regressions and started to incorporate some of your feedback for our screenshot feature.
-
Am I the first poster of the year!? What do I win?
-
Is "Show Extensions Visibility Toggle" Windows only?
Happy new year and thanks for your work. -
no, it is for all platforms
-
@ruario:
What do I win?
One free licence for Vivaldi. Congratulations!
-
Best gift ever!
-
Updates are very fast! Very good this type of update! Thank you!
And thanks for the correction. (VB-24405) -
Does the browser screenshot feature still have the arbitrary seeming maximum height limit of 20.000 pixels? Is there a reason for that limitation?
To be fair, the only reason i want an in-browser screenshot feature is to be able to screenshot long webpages. And there definitely are pages longer than 20k pixels.

So… If I hide a button, it is gone permanently. I can only make it reappear from the vivaldi://extensions page? The toggle option hide all buttons. Personally I think Chrome handles it well.
-
Can we please get an option for: *Do not show horrible blinking in addressbar when loading page
on HIDPI screens? please -
Like the snapshot except the user cannot choose which extensions to hide.
It's either all or nothing. Would be better if the user can choose which extensions
to hide. -
You can hide the ones you don't use very often with right-click and hide, but the point of this group toggle is to still have your most used extensions readily available in case you need to check on a notification or change some settings, without having to go into the Extensions page and re-enable the button – keeping your UI nice and tidy.

"One free license"! Wow! You hit the jackpot!:D

The new visibility toggle is promising although not very useful in its current state for me.
I have a few extension icons that I use only once in a while so hiding them would make sense. Except some others need to be visible at all times e.g. SmartRSS. Having those few important ones visible at all times outweighs the benefit of having a slightly neater window.
And that brings me to my point. What do you think about giving the ability to "pin" extension icons so that they are unaffected by hiding?
p/s
I can already see a few confused looks from people coming from Chrome given your icon choice for the visibility toggle (but since it's not enabled by default and is kinda experimental still I guess it doesn't really matter) -
What happened to the color in the logo?
Was red. Now not red. Very bland. -
Sounds like you went from final to the snapshot version. The final version of Vivaldi uses the red icon, while Snapshot uses the Black color.
-
We use different icons to indicate what Stream you are using. There is also a third color or the internal (developer) version of vivaldi.
-
Final version is red! Beta version is not! I think this is good, it shows the difference of the stable and "unstable"
-
Thanks for fixing VB-24377. This was really annoying.
-
Do you get this if you're using the Subtle Theme, too?
