Vivaldi Window not opening on starting
-
Vivaldi Version: 1.3.551.38 (Stable channel) (64-bit) OSX El Capitan 10.11.6 (15G1004) When I start Vivaldi, "Vivaldi" shows in the toolbar next to the Apple symbol, but no window opens. I have to say File > New Window to get a window to open, but - I had tabs open in the version I opened previously and they still show under the Window toolbar option. If I click on any of them, I can't access them. I can quit out of the app and restart, but the same thing happens. I attached an example of what I'm seeing. If I click on any of the tabs in the Window dropdown, I can't access them, even though they say they're selected. I also took a screencast of what I was seeing. It's aggravating enough that I've stopped using Vivaldi and gone back to other browsers.. What you are describing is similar to what happens on my machine (using 1.3.551.38 Stable), if I don't quit Vivaldi but only close the last window and then switch to another application before switching back. But even then, using Alfred to switch back to Vivaldi causes a (clean) new window to be created. A (clean) new window is also created when I click on any of those "phantom" pages that are still in the window menu after closing the last window, or if I click on Vivaldi's application icon in the dock. For some reason, none of those actions result in the creation of a new window on your machine, which is strange.
Have you tried temporarily turning off all of your extensions, just to see if one of the extensions is maybe causing a negative interaction with Vivaldi? Another option would be to quit Vivaldi and then rename the "Vivaldi" folder in "/Users/yourUsername/Library/Application Support" before launching Vivaldi, to see if the issue is with your profile or independent of it.

I'm assuming that it's one of the Chrome extensions, because a new window does load (either by Alfred or LaunchPad) when I disable all of them. However, I tried to re-enable each one individually, wash, rinse and repeat and couldn't get the problem to surface again, so I'm not sure which one.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad the problem is gone, even though it's not entirely clear what caused it. If you do manage to identify the extension that causes the issue, it would be great if you could share this information.
