@axander: Try adding
<body style="background: #000000;">
to resources/vivaldi/components/startpage/startpage.html ; now, everytime I go tu an url from a new tab, the background of "Start page" (displayed just before the page of the url) is now black. Before doing this, it was all white.
Thank you! I've seen other people mention this problem in snapshots a while back. Back then, it happened even when using the keyboard shortcut and not just when using the trackpad gesture I described above. The bug disappeared for a while, but is back now with the gesture-only twist.
@jacekn: GMail seems to consume way too much memory (much more than anything else, including youtube - Gmail: 400 MB vs Youtube: 200 MB) and I have 4 gmail tabs in the background 😞
Please add the ability to specify the URL that new tabs open with (instead of Speed Dial) and also fix the horizontal menus which have been broken ever after 1.0.352.3 – once you click on one menu, you should be able to mouse over to the other menus without needing to click on them.
Haha, the wonderful fun just keeps coming.
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/chinese-hackers-abuse-vlc-media-player-to-launch-malware-loader/
some initial access to some of the breached networks was through a Microsoft Exchange server, indicating that the actor exploited a known vulnerability on unpatched machines
deployed a custom loader on compromised systems with the help of the popular VLC media player
attacker uses a clean version of VLC with a malicious DLL file in the same path as the media player's export functions
The technique is known as DLL side-loading and it is widely used by threat actors to load malware into legitimate processes to hide the malicious activity.
Stockholm is just my very fave Syndrome.
I am having the same issue, possibly from two or three versions ago. I am running Vivaldi Snapshot 5.3.2679.16 (the latest one).
Usually the crash occurs when a text field is "opened'. For example, it just crashed right now when I clicked "Reply" to the thread, or when I open a text field that expands in JIRA.
The browser "hangs" for a few seconds before crashing - usually around 5 times a day. It used to be very stable (having Vivaldi open for weeks) but since a few versions ago it became very unstable.
Chrome/Chromium 56.0.2924.76 just got released to the stable channel, complete with 51 security fixes. No wonder they were eager to get this out the door! The 56-beta core browser code was pretty stable so hopefully this will turn out to be a good solid foundation for Vivaldi 1.7.
I recoil at the device integration. Leave my things be. Rolling back.
Oh, and I removed the advertisement label on the Vivaldi Browser header under Jon's Wikipedia profile. Haters gonna hate. You're welcome.
@terere:
I would love to actually have an integrated RSS reader.
I'm not sure if you're actually using Smart RSS in vivaldi, but I figured out the issue. You have to edit the manifest.json and add extension png here: "19": "images/icon19-arrow-orange" after orange. Somehow it worked without it until this snapshot, but that fixes it.
