@doctorg Thank you for the suggestion. Alas, I have multiple tabs open, so it just cycles to the next tab. I've found using alt+tab works for now.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the other great features (tiling, notes, background tab hibernate), I've have switched back t Chrome or Firefox by now. I can't understand why such a power user browser has such an obvious workflow issue. Don't even get me started on the inane 'address bar' vs 'page' focus issue.
@exist2resist Interesting. Today there has been a Snapshot update, you 're talking about it? Do you also have Intel Xe Graphics? If so, try an older kernel since you 're saying it was running ok with F35.
Or try disabling just the rasterization with --disable-gpu-rasterization.
The Vivaldi application occasionally goes black whilst horizontally resizing the Vivaldi browser window... Causes tabs to refresh and lose their content e.g. Figma. Wife has experienced this frequently today with multiple tabs (20+) open, and whilst using dev tools.
Latest snapshot, Windows 10 Pro 21H2 19044.1706.
@kerygma91 Also, I am more productive with Vivaldi than I am with the other options you mentioned. Now, I do believe they could make it more appealing for the average user without scaring away their current user-base... but.. do they want to?
@DoctorG , ask Andi. I still use DDG sometimes, but I certainly rely more on MetaGer, Mojeek and Andi, or do the search directly with a dedicated engine (Wikipedia, Open Street Map, Pixabay, Wolfram Alpha, etc)
@dmitriigolovchenko Everything you need to know has been mentioned in this topic already a long time ago. The only additional/alternative solution I can offer is the installation of a userscript, attempting to block all website shortcuts ☛ https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/459981

@xandork , well, for those who prefer it simple there is also
Whoa, I must have just gotten Mandela Effected! See, in my home universe, we have GPS apps like Google Maps and OpenStreetMap. Where I come from, no one would even consider using their phone's web browser to look up directions. And we don't only have phones, we even have machines that will specifically and only give you GPS directions.
Weird how this universe doesn't have anything other than phones' web browsers to provide this functionality. Seems like a missed opportunity.

A brief anecdote. about weasels. There is a large European weasel commonly called a polecat that has always been the bane of poultry keepers. I have been an outdoorsman cum ecologist cum fur trapper cum herbalist since childhood. In 1968 I was in USAREUR (U S Army) Germany spending all of my spare time exploring the natural environment and abandoned military facilities. In my small backpack were folding knife, cord, collecting bags, camera, flashlight, notebook, field guide to herbs and mushrooms of Europe and a small roll of duct tape. As I entered the dark attic of a three story abandoned building that was the remnant of a bombed out kaserne I heard a growl coming from the clutter and debris and I saw a polecat which is called iltisse in German. I froze and waited to see what the critter would do then I advanced forward to the right to see if it would got out the entry. Instead it went to the entry, stopped and growled again. I slowly brought out my knife and cast about for a defensive pipe or stick. A Broken oak 2X2 was four feet from me. The polecat made a feinting dash at my legs as I lunged for the stick letting me know that it was not going to leave the attic. I grabbed the stick and on the second assault I stunned it with the stick and stabbed it repeatedly until it was dead. It was a female with full dugs. I found 4 recently born kits at the far end of the attic and regretfully killed them.
