@edwardp: That was the correct place to post your issue. If you had no replies, it would be because no one who read your comment felt like they had an answer for you. The forum is just other users for the most part, and to get a response, someone who read it would have to feel they had something meaningful to tell you. NOW - there was another comment just today, that someone could not start the browser after update on Linux (not Fedora). https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/14788/new-1-8-770-9-does-not-start?page=1 That generated a long discussion and an eventual solution. I don't know if anyone involved in that discussion would have help for you, but you can post there and see if anyone has a reply.
When the new forum came up, i did not know how to select single entries in list, too.
When i clicked on the avatar at the left to see the users profile as it would be in other forums, i was surprised to see that these avatars act as sort of checkboxes.
Unfamiliar foe me.

@Dovelove: You can't see them in the Blog interface. But if you click the link at the bottom of the blog to "see original thread" then you get the view with the three vertical little dots over to the right of each comment, and clicking on those dots gives you a menu that includes "Edit." It's live for one hour after you post a given comment.

Forgot to mention - this is actually the reason I'm not bothering much with the forum these days!
Apart from notifications of replies to my own posts, I can't keep track of what's going on here any more...!!!
I fully agree. The whole "philosophy" behind this forum software feels quite awkward to me.
But since there is barely criticism I guess I have to live with it. I just wanted to silently voice this sentiment.
