How to report a bug for Vivaldi
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker.
Again thank you for using Vivaldi.
@Gwen-Dragon Interesting how the eMail notification for this turned out... "bs"???
Gwen-Dragon has posted a reply to: Possible regression: Focus not on page after load for some sites.
@LorenAmelang You bs was a duplicate. Please watch out in changelogs or if you have questions:
VB-60073 "Loss of keyboard focus if Vivaldi opened from external URL when minimised."
@davidperezingeniero That error would be caused by an error in the database or in the code itself. I've never seen it myself, so not really sure what to do. It could be really hard to fix if something's gone corrupt. But try this:
Find the file "Login Data" in your Vivaldi profile and back it up somewhere.
Open the file in the DB Browser for SQLite.
Try some of the checks under the Tools menu.
The checks should return OK.
Go to File > Write Changes
Close the tool, start Vivaldi and try again.
If that doesn't work: How many passwords do you store? Would it be a massive chore to delete the file and start over?
Have you done any manual editing of the file yourself earlier?
My bad! oddly the preview thing is now popping up for me, for seemingly the first time ever.... very odd timing.
On my end, it doesn't work for all of the youtube titles, but right now it's displaying by far most of them.
In the suggested videos down the side of an opened video, for one tab it works for all the videos, and for another tab it works for none of them (even after refreshing).
Odd. But anyway.
I tried to delete the post, but it doesn't seem to just disappear after selecting to delete it, so I'll leave this reply in the mean time and I don't care what happens to the post.
@Catweazle said in How can we remove Bing from Vivaldi?:
I really do not understand the problem presented here.
I think it's more than likely a case of not understanding the way the search engine settings UI works, or a very small possibility it's a random glitch.
The fact the delete (minus) button is greyed out for the default search is probably a little confusing. If it stays enabled and you get a warning when clicking it if trying to remove the default search, it might be a little more transparent.
Also initially i forgot to press the save button after unchecking the default box, then wondering why the changed settings weren't sticking. Possibly a carry over from windows10 settings where most things stick after a change not requiring a dedicated save button action.
So more than likely user error.
@ferenczy By design the chrome security model shares a single private session across all private windows. Vivaldi inherits this as it uses the same engine.
You could get around this by using a Regular window, a private window, and a guest window (then you could have up to 3 active at once). Or you could use profiles if you frequently need to have multiple logins open at once - then you could remember the cookies each time you open that profile.
@3o5 Vivaldi forum has Referrer Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-origin , restricts referrer to forum-only.
But this runs into off-topic now, we are in the Feature Request forum.
I move this discussion about referrers and their policy on websites to a new thread.
