In Vivaldi Snapshot 2.12.1873.3 there is a checkbox to disable the Pop-in-Pop Video button. As this will surely be available in the stable version of Vivaldi soon.

@pmstirling Vote for Option to Detect Mobile Touch Icons Instead of Thumbnails
I think that these icons are much larger than 16x16 pixels, which is why they look good in Opera.
I am happy with creating my own speed dial thumbnails, which is fine if you have fewer than 20 speed dial thumbs, but time consuming for users who have a lot.
You can read a bit more about some of this here: https://help.vivaldi.com/article/how-we-count-our-users/
Essentially, Vivaldi is moving away entirely from associating users with unique IDs. And without unique IDs they can't track individual users in any way.
Cool, it is working now.
Anayway, i use dark theme and this white shining page (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en-GB) disturbs me. Will it be possible to change it on dark? Or it is not just possible?
@owasmosy The settings dialog needs to be about 955 pixels wide to avoid the inner scroll bar. Although this is OK on a 1920 x 1080 pixel landscape monitor, there is no great benefit from having larger images for the Custom backgrounds than for the standard images installed with Vivaldi.
I submitted a bug for this:
(VB-65666) Settings Start Page Custom Placeholders are too Big
I'm using Google Chrome link for more than 5 years
permanent links one the best idea ever, because it can be using everywhere, I several years ago in Firefox forum like here request for permanent links and they build one quickly in a few days
@iAN-CooG said in Large thumbnail issue:
not an issue but a feature 🙂
drag with mouse the border between the bottom of the thumbnails and the address bar back on top, or disable the feature altogether, settings/tabs/tab display/show tab thumbnails
Thank, I got it =))
@Ayespy said in Missing bookmark favicons on the bookmark toolbar, but not on the bookmark sidebar:
@stdedos Gnome Shell Integration, Refined GitHub, Requestly, YouTube Enhancer and KeePassXC Browser could all touch the browser UI. I'm not saying they do - I'm saying they could.
I thought that's the point of the extensions, to touch up the browser in some way? 😕
I note you seem to be in Linux, and you posted this for "All Platforms." It's possible only Linux is affected, and possibly only your flavor of Linux. I have Mint here, and for kicks I will test in that.
You would note wrong. I am using this browser cross OS, and the extension is an (unfortunate) Ubuntu Bionic / GNOME need.
The screenshot is coming from Windows, but the favicons were missing cross OS.
I will also note that I am synced here, and every time I do a new install in Windows and sync it, the favicons appear right out of the box - because that file is actually synced. So from a Windows standpoint at least, all favicons should always appear.
I would need to try that, I haven't been opening the Linux side of the browser in a while.
Are you using the Stable build or the latest Snapshot? It makes sense to discuss the new implementation of the Start Page before it gets released in the Stable build.
It makes sense to choose a background colour only if images are transparent, but changing the background colour automatically disables the image. That could be better.
The response on the issue I opened said
We would recommend you to test this again on a clean profile to see if you get the same result. Here are the steps to create a clean profile and test again:
Click on the Profile button in the top right corner of the browser window and select 'Manage People'
Click on 'Add Person' at the bottom of the pop-out menu.
Pick a name for the new profile (or leave it as it is) and click 'Add Person'
And if you are using some extensions in Vivaldi, please try disabling them (vivaldi://extensions/) to see if the problem still occurs while all extensions are disabled.
@Pesala Thanks, I used to submit bug reports in the past. But I am not sure if this is a bug or there is no added feature support
I prefer to use shortcut keys, mouse clicks are too much trouble, and too many steps
Just like economic principle of motion, if you can achieve your goal in fewer steps, you do n’t need more steps
And if you click the Site Settings item in that popup menu, it'll bring you to a page with all the various settings you can change for a site. Going to vivaldi://settings/content shows the list of all site settings and you can choose any setting to go to its page where you can set the default, see which sites have individualized config for that setting and modify it or add & remove sites. If you click a site in the list on that page it'll take you to that site's page, the same as you would get from the first sentence in this post -- all the site settings for that individual site.
So notifications, indeed every site setting is available in the UI.
