So, to get the 64-bit package:
has a newer vivaldi-stable arm64 been released ???
I tried snapshots newer than v3.4 on my rpi4 ubuntu 21.04 64 bit but the performance was not as good as with vivaldi-stable_3.4.2066.106-1_arm64 ...
thanks folks for your help !
PS : oops my bad I just downloaded https://vivaldi.com/download/vivaldi-stable_arm64.deb and I got vivaldi-stable_4.1.2369.11-1_arm64.deb 😉 ... seems to work good ! 🙂
I've been wanting to work on an icon theme for Vivaldi that uses KDE Breeze icons based off of https://github.com/paulatz/Vivaldi-Breeze. I've gotten it part way done but it'll need more work to finalize. On the GNOME side there's this post from Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/vivaldibrowser/comments/gdv5e7/vivaldi_in_gnome/ and I've tracked down a newer version of this on Github https://github.com/NathanClaudel/vivaldi_customizations
Let me know if you have more questions!
@doctorg said in Window maximization error - Linux Mint 20:
@ugly We could not reproduce teh issue on Mint 20.2.
I tested today and Vivaldi always started maximized, no small pixel border on top as Dancer told.
If I have time I'll try to test again on a live disk for 20.2. The bug report was from last year, so it was not on 20.2.
I do see this issue on at least 2 computers and I think a third one as well (all three have totally different hardware) that run Linux Mint Cinnamon.
One factor that might be important is that I have the setting for 'Remove Tab Spacing in Maximized Windows' checked.
I can confirm this too on Win10 in a clean profile.
It's easiest to see if the Window Panel is shown at the same time, you will see it jumping two places:
With bug reports it's often the case that developers have very little time to try a reproduction. If the report is not completely clear on how it can be done, it will get closed as "cannot reproduce".
@dovregubben said in Accordion:
I have chosen to use double-click to close tabs, and find it not very smart (I would say stupid, but I don't know if moderator will accept that) to use that same procedure for two almost opposite functions.
Double-click to expand/collapse tab stack was Opera [Presto] unique feature. When double-click to close tabs feature was introduced in Vivaldi I thought it's kinda weird feature because we have a middle click. Nowadays I use double-click to close tabs on certain devises where middle click is not available (tab close button is disabled).
So I think the solution might be:
if double-click to close tabs option is enabled you can't expand/collapse tab stack by double-click.
alternative option in the settings to expand/collapse tab stack, e.g. middle click, but the ability to close tabs with middle click would be disabled.
@nullsteph said in Cannot tile horizontally...:
I was expecting it would tile the current tab with the last focused tab.
That was in 2017. Now, in 2021, the new tab will tile with the last focused tab without any selection of tabs needed — just use the shortcut to tile horizontally.
Command Chains are now available, so one can create a command chain to open a new tab and tile that with the current tab; then assign that command chain to a shortcut or mouse gesture, or add it to a menu.
I'm not sure what happened, or if it was linked with Workona, to be honest (I also use Vimium which takes a lot of keyboard inputs). I just thought I would take some time today to investigate more in depth, disabling extensions, etc., so I reupgraded the package on my system. And when I launched everything was normal, as opposed to last time when I upgraded the first time (and had killed and restarted Vivaldi several times to make sure it was not a first-launch thing). As I said, it's really strange... but seems to be gone now.
@ashish2902 Opera 12.18 has a very powerful keyboard shortcut editor. Any program can be launched use the "Execute Program" command.
Mnemonic shortcuts can be defined using two or more single-key shortcuts to execute commands, go to a URL, or execute a program.
This may never be possible in Vivaldi, but there is no harm in asking.

@gyozaguy said in Crash network service, just blank page:
I had luck without rebooting as well.
It probably depends on the Desktop Environment or Window Manager that you use. In i3WM I tried before reboot, and V would not run. After reboot, it ran fine. That's why I added the reboot part.
Like always, your mileage may vary.....
Hi, these looks like duplicates, there was/is a bug Vivaldi create them sometimes. Disable network connection if you cant disable sync before the freeze.
Delete doubles with marking multiple with Shift+Click, delete (Del).
You can mark the first note, scroll down to the last double and with Shift+LMB it marks all in between. Like in Windows Explorer or text software.
Drat. MX Linux just upgraded Vivaldi to 4.1.2369.11 but this problem still exists for me. When i saw the upgrade I figured I ought to cycle through my problem reports (one fixed at least) and test things out.
I reported this before, and one of developers replied that they will not change, and recommended to use native windows manager.

Hi again, I guess the problem is the developer don´t read the forum, you have to make a bug report about the issue.
Twice I reported this bug in the past, based on the suggestion by another user in this very thread. It's been over five years since I first brought it up. (Technically longer, if you consider since Vivaldi's inception.)
@pesala said in Restoring Vivaldi folder on Start Page:
@edwardp If it is in the Bookmark Panel Trash bin you can drag it out again. If not, finding the icons for the speed dials in the folder is the hardest part.
I didn't notice if anything was in the Trash bin, but I ended up deleting the profile and starting it anew. Replacing the bookmarks was easy, imported from Firefox.
Hi, I never use it but can login and check last groups visited or my groups.
You need at least enable Crypto Token in Settings > Privacy > Google Extensions to use Google services.
