carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker.
Again thank you for using Vivaldi.
@redviv You are running an extension called "Joplin Search Integration" and this triggers the issue.
It seems to be a complex extension meant for developers, and should probably be removed unless you know what you're doing.
@hari007 , yes, it's enough to do it in the settings of Vivaldi when it promted that he isn't. You can do it also in the Windows settings.
Windows 7 was a good OS, but it no longer receives security updates and it is no longer supported by MS, that is, over time it will become more insecure and with lack of support also by other software.
For this it is recommended, either to go to Windows 10, or failing that to a Linux distro, for example Q4OS would be a good alternative, also easy to install (it has an installer for Windows), to use it as a single OS or in dual boot. So you can also continue to use Windows with your favorite applications locally and use Linux to navigate and other tasks.
Q4OS has a UI very similar to Windows, so you don't will have problems to handle it.
Other good distro is FerenOS, which has Vivaldi as it's default browser.
@ian-coog No, not on the particular video @Pesala mantioned, but he didnt specify which video, so i assumed that those videos either dont support 1080p because they were'nt recoreded at 1080p or that he just has bad WiFi/Ethernet, but aside from that yes, he does have relatively vage information which doesnt help at all
@pathduck said in Web page blank:
@nichounited No worries 👍
Too bad you need to create a new profile, it shouldnt really be necessary for a single site error like this. But it would possibly require a lot of digging to figure out what goes on in your system, unless someone else is able to reproduce the error on their side...
Just to follow-up @Pathduck .......Created a new profile and website worked straight away. Copied over Bookmarks, Favicons, Login Data, history, cookies, Search Engines, Saved Sessions. Did not copy over Extensions. All working fine.
Appreciate the help!
@dudenas They work if settings are opened in a tab, but not in the settings dialog. Also Midde-click and Ctrl+click do not open the links the background. Maybe worth a bug report, but might be known already.
Please see How to Report a Bug.
Yes, the stable version of Vivaldi: Vivaldi 4.0.2312.27 (Stable channel) (32-bit)
Restart helps. But I still wanted to notify you.
I don't think this is a freeze because:
a) Other Vivaldi windows looked and worked OK
b) This window, even grayed, still worked OK. I could open new tabs, go to pages etc.. The screenshot, it was not like that from the beginning. I opened Vivaldi menu "report bug in forums", chose new topic and started entering text - all while the window stayed grayed-out.
c) There is a Vivaldi Logo in the middle of the gray overlay. I don't think Windows do such fancy things when the programs freeze.

Vivaldi has many good things but bookmark management is not one of them. When my bookmarks start to bug me, I export them out of Vivaldi. I then import them into a browser that has better bookmark management like Firefox. Order your individual folders however you would like. Next delete all your bookmarks in Vivaldi. Then import your bookmarks from wherever (Firefox).
I'm sure someday Vivaldi will have better bookmark management, just not today.
