I think the ability to middle click the back button in the top right corner to open the previous page in a separate tab like in chrome, firefox, and opera would be a nice feature to add in the next update. This is something that I used quite a bit in those browsers and the lack of this in vivaldi is kind of a pain to deal with.
Tottaly mine words man, I would love this feature like on Chrome
Just noticed i posted on the entirely wrong board. Anyway to move the post?
You could just edit your post, rename it as a duplicate, then post again in the right forum.
There's an option in Settings to remove the spacing above the tabs.
Hi, you are right it is slower than Chrome for example.
I am just curious how often you start your browser?
I start the whole system including file manager, Vivaldi and some more in 3 seconds from hibernate to disk (SSD).
On my SSD-powered devices, hibernation takes longer than cold-booting the OS. Intel first had to invent "Rapid Start" to remedy that.
In a cold boot scenario Vivaldi basically doubles the time until a device is ready for browsing the web.
The usual import method is: File > Import Bookmarks & settings > you should get a popup offering a variety of importation choices: a list of browsers Vivaldi has identified on your system, the information you wish to import from that browser (Bookmarks, Passwords, History, Search Engines), and a "Detected Profile Path" box showing where the highlighted browser's profile data is stored (if Vivaldi can't locate the profile, it presents a "Folder" browse box to allow you to navigate to it manually).
Are you even getting the popup? Also, what version of Vivaldi (as well as 32 or 64 bits) are you using and what OS?
Thanks for the confirmation. Is there also any news on whether you plan to include the ability to highlight text and drag it into the tab area to create a new tab with the highlighted text already searched on the user's default search engine?
Right-click and search for the highlighted text.
OK, the Blick video is working for me. (5 ticket swipes )
Have you perhaps installed some extensions which might be blocking it?
Another thing that has helped "some people" - but not all is the "Use Hardware acceleration" flag.
You could try changing that setting.
Note: Be sure to enter chrome and not Vivaldi as it isn't available via the Vivaldi settings (yet) although Vivaldi will rewrite the address after loading.
in virtually any application I use, keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Tab scrolls through the tabs (and Shift + Ctrl + Tab the same, in different direction); however, in Vivaldi it doesn't seem to work, nothing happens when I press Ctrl + Tab.
Works for me. Perhaps you Disabled Keyboard Shortcuts in Tools/Settings/Keyboard?
Use the tab context menu.
Well you see, it isn't as smooth as draging the tab.
You can use an animated GIF.
I got a full folder of picture that I update often, so not the best idea, even if it can be useful, thanks.
Yes, Vivaldi is pretty amazing for a browser that's not long in development, and only just reached a stage good enough for final release.
This forum lets you edit your first post at any time to select the green tick icon if the issue has been resolved. That saves others from having to open the thread to check if you still need help.
There's an Italian forum further down the forum Index. If you post in English in this section it is better.
Right-click on the tab, Move to, New window, or right-click on a link to open it in a new window.
