@Pathduck this unfortunately didn't work for me. i put the custom CSS text into a new note on my computer's notepad app, named it with the .css file extension so it would save as one (it was trying to save as .txt; i checked my files after saving it to confirm that it did save as a .css file), and put it into a folder before importing that folder into the settings shown in the modding guide you linked. all it does is make the fullscreen UI flicker a little. it's still visible and still stays for the same amount of time as it did before. i want it gone because i'm taking interview stills from videos and the pop-up makes things...a lot less efficient, to say the least.

Hello community, I've been using Vivaldi for 6+ months. I like it very much, it has been very productive at work on Windows, however on my personal Mac, I've been having significant issues streaming any type of video on Vivaldi (ie on YouTube). When I do so, my CPU load goes through the roof and computer stops responding at times (fans at full blast etc.) I've used a CLI tool called htop to check my CPU load streaming a video on Vivaldi and Google Chrome and its radically different. On Chrome, I practically never go above a load of 5. [image: 1752526820125-screenshot-2025-07-14-at-22.56.22.jpg] While in Vivaldi, I'm well into the 6. [image: 1752526914386-screenshot-2025-07-14-at-22.54.34.jpg] Even recorded a CPU load 9 when the computer was in complete panic after I was able to regain partial control and closed the tab with YouTube on it. [image: 1752527032485-screenshot-2025-07-14-at-22.44.42.jpg] Is there sometimes that I can to prevent the computer from losing it when streaming on simple HD video on YouTube? @LittleBuddha have you tried disabling Use Tab Zoom option? It fixed for me. The behavior I was having was on all tabs it was defaulting to the Default Webpage Zoom setting, but disabling that option made it work as expected.

@sirrichard The thread is not tagged, so there are no plans yet to implement it. Since there is an extension to do this, and only 43 upvotes after five years, there is not much incentive to do it. Try the extension, and see if it works for your needs.

@Rounak13 It's also difficult for me without this icon in 7.5, already used to it. For now, I've created a "Next Space" command chain. It's not as convenient, but it's better than nothing.

@baper I don't see this dropdown in the address field. If I just type some text and press Enter, it searches with my default search engine (Ecosia). Shift+Enter searches in a new tab. My Search Settings [image: 1644446538925-search-settings.png]

@tech444 , the only truth that this text shows me is that you didn't even bother looking at the settings page, otherwise you wouldn't have written so many falsehoods.

@pathduck said in Cache Is Not Reset With Reload: There we have to disagree - I still claim it is not the default in Edge - and every browser ever made You're perfectly right! In fact I live on a yacht and my only internet connection is the hotspot on my phone - and the local IP is probably the most expensive on Planet Earth. I hadn't considered all the javascript, css, and other files that need to download to show pages on the websites - it's not just the images and the background downloads are huge. Any you're correct, none of the browsers use a cache reset with the reload button. I've removed that setting from my Vivaldi. As for muscle memory for the cache reset - the muscles get kind of forgetful after you leave 80 years in the wake.

I experience this too. It only happens when the MacOS setting to automatically hide the menu bar is disabled. It also seems when that is the case, Vivaldi "forgets" that it was closed in full screen mode. So after a restart, it does not reopen in fullscreen. I made a short recording of two cases; when "Use native window" is enabled and disabled. https://youtu.be/G52GgLcVjP4

@ayespy It is not only Fox, there are zillion sites that are hosting auto-play videos. Some of those are completely blocked by ad-blocker, but some are not. Also sometimes ad-blocker catches and hides videos that are not ads at all. There are extensions that disable auto-play of those videos, but built-in option is much better solution. There is feature request for this option from long time ago. @Kaprice09 check the topic, there are some workarounds there.

@kaprice09 , it's very easy to configure, even the default settings are good enough, that means, install and forget it. Itself gives you an advice if something got wrong, and what you have to do.

@john316 It works for me. I click the attachment, and select "Open" in the dialog that appears. Are the video files associated with VLC Media Player? Do they open when double-clicked in your file manager?

IDNA support has low priority. And see why it is so complex to add secure display of such URLs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDN_homograph_attack

I merged the two threads since it's occurring on all platforms apparently. So far, there is an issue with displaying local *.ico favicons - *.png files are displayed correctly. The issue has been reported to the developers already.
