@LunaSterling Yes, from 23/Oct/2. We had user reports like yours but no developer or tester could reproduce this. The tip to test in a Guest profile was nonsense, it doesn't save anything. Install the latest Vivaldi as Standalone install, don't change or install anything and test it there. Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin said in High CPU usage on Yahoo Finance? (Vivaldi 7.3): @RasheedHolland Vivaldi's task manager shows absolute usage, if you a CPU with 8 threads the max would be 800%. It does the same in Chromium, this is not a Vivaldi problem. OK I see, I already thought it was weird, so it's not the same as Win Task Manager. BTW, I have dumped Yahoo Finance for now, I just noticed that you can also make a stock watchlist on investing.com, and this website doesn't have the problem with high CPU usage, Yahoo Finance is truly crap.

@kyovivaldi You can already do that with a command chain. Tile vertically/horizontally/ to grid are all commands. And once you created the command chain you can assign it in vivaldi:settings/appearance in menu customization. The first command is “open link in new tab” parameter: {link_url}, the second command is the actual tiling.

[image: 1752492466619-drop-to-upload.jpg] Hi all, Run into an incredibly annoying issue. Only affects this one internal LAN address. It's an internal IP for accessing Mainsail for 3d printing. When ever I try to click on any menu or anywhere on the page I get this overlay that says 'drop files to upload' Does anyone know how to disable it? I've been going through settings all morning! It happened once before & I disabled mouse gestures which took care of it, but now it's back & gestures are already disabled. Online help points to tab stacking but no luck there either. Tried even though this is nothing to do with tabs. I'm running Vivaldi ver: 7.5.3735.47 (Stable channel) (64-bit) On Linux KDE Neon with Plasma version 6.4.2. Only happened again since the last update, so not sure what has changed. Luckily I can still access it via Vivaldi on my phone, but not ideal. Only does this on desktop. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hello, Vivaldi Team, I'm testing Vivaldi as my primary browser, and one feature I'm really missing is the ability to drag and drop a local PDF file directly into a tab to open it, just like in Google Chrome. I've confirmed that the built-in PDF viewer is enabled and works fine when opening files manually by copying the file's address path. Interestingly, I also noticed that if I open a new tab, visit any website, and drag a PDF file onto the loaded page, the PDF renders correctly in the tab—proving that the built-in viewer can handle this action (thanks to @Pesala). However, this behavior doesn't work when dragging a PDF file into a blank tab before any URLs are loaded, nor when dragging it into an empty browser window that displays only the home page. It also doesn't work when dropping the file onto the "+" icon to create a new tab, nor when dragging it directly to the tab bar or address bar. It would be a huge usability improvement if Vivaldi could fully support this drag-and-drop behavior in all these contexts. Extending support to empty tabs, new windows without a loaded URL, and direct access to the tab bar would make the experience more fluid and consistent with other Chromium-based browsers. Thank you for your great work. I hope this feature can be considered in a future update!

@Rounak13 It's also difficult for me without this icon in 7.5, already used to it. For now, I've created a "Next Space" command chain. It's not as convenient, but it's better than nothing.

While I dislike Vivaldi for making this opt-out change for long-time users, I also love Vivaldi for maintaining the ability through customization to effectively revert the 7.0 UI update. The cartoon icons and unnecessary whitespace everywhere was confounding and maddening, but Vivaldi is once again as I liked it! Thank you!

@mib2berlin I agree that search is the fastest method for getting right away to the setting. But one has to know what to search for. Having "Menu" item in the settings category list directly implies that menus are customizable. Not all (new) users are aware of this feature, so they wouldn't search for menu at first place. Setting buried in a category that have nothing in common with menus is a bad decision and hides the presence of one essential feature of Vivaldi.

@ryofurue Hi, you can right click on a address bar icon and open "Customize Toolbar....". Reset is a way but if you have a customized address bar already this can be some work to get your changes back. Move the address bar back or add spaces take a second. Thank you, this will help users with the same problem, mib

@jvar2073 said in HTTP Basic Authentication pop-up not trying to get logins from saved passwords automatically: Is this means, the sites that I am trying is not somehow secure enough to Vivaldi even to offer the save password option and hesitate to do autofill etc.., !? Some sites can disallow in HTML code of form input fields the saving and autofilling of passwords. @jvar2073 said in HTTP Basic Authentication pop-up not trying to get logins from saved passwords automatically: I use 1Password/ My bad! Only for a test: to check if 1Password is the culprit, remove it in Extensions Manager (Ctrl+Shift+E) and then after restart try if saving/autofilling works for you on all sites.

@luetage that's probably a good idea. I have a few other tab related bugs that could just be that too. Thanks for the suggestion

I've always had that issue. I thought it was by design, because instead of history, it suggests stuff in my Speed Dial, so I never reported it here

@ryofurue Hi, yes it is a bit cumbersome you have to enable mail to get to this setting but you can disable it afterwards again. To my knowledge you have to disable the setting if the Vivaldi mail client is enabled and setup. It's maybe different when an extension is installed. If it work leave as is, you can remove the mail icon if it bothers you.
