I don't know if I have any real information, beyond a couple of pieces: 6.1 is supposed to work fine, 6.2 is supposed to have issues, and there was a chromium update to 116 a few weeks before 6.2 was released.

Of these, the ones I tagged [1], [2], and [3] may be the most likely regression points. Given that Portals was an Experiment, it is possible to enable it in [1], and AFAIK disable it in [2] and likely for a while longer.

While determining a breakage in [2] will only determine the feature responsible; the actual code involved was under development for months prior to that release, that might help guide an investigation.

Yes, as noted in the link to the other thread. It was a youtube channel that i visit maybe once a month. The URL should have been in the typed history or frequent lists based on the fact it was used about 4 times that week.

Valid suggestion, but it won't fix the problem if it's not made aware of.

Also I use bookmarks in a weird way i think. It's either stuff that i use very rarely so keep them bookmarked so i don't forget them, or stuff that i use daily so i can open with a single click. Stuff in between is just as simple as typing a few letters and it normally shows up in the address bar. Or at least it used to be.

Thanks, @mib2berlin. Vivaldi is the best browser I've used to far. I used Firefox (and predecessors) for many, many years until they decided to introduce disruptive updates. Then I switched to Chrome but its password management is cumbersome/buggy. For me, this is the only fault of Vivaldi, except for occasional crashes when opening more than one profile (I use more than one).

It's a shame, because this bug seems quick to fix (I'm not a web-development professional, I use(d) mostly C/C++, Python, Ada/SPARK, etc., and this is a pain: when you come back to the Google Doc and want to paste code unformatted using Ctrl+Shift+V you go to the last web page (without the correct focus I suppose this key combination means back).

Thanks, I confirmed the issue in the tracker.
Apparently this is a regression in 6.6 - it does not happen in 6.5.
It also happens in 6.7 which is just around the corner. I doubt this will make it into the first release though.

The desktop version now has something like 4 column layout instead of 2, which makes it not really suitable for the side panel.

@notwishy As someone who requested Support for MIME Types many years ago, I am disappointed that we are still waiting for this feature to be implemented.

I don’t download many files, so I just save them all in Downloads and run installers from there, before moving them to backup folders.

If you enable the PDF plugin in Settings, Webpages, Plugins, PDF files will be opened in Vivaldi, and saved in the Downloads folder. I either save them to a documents folder, or delete them permanently.

Update:
I have received an initial response from Telegram, with suggestions for a solution (clear cache, restart...), but this was not enough. I then contacted support directly and am waiting for an answer.
No numbers are shown for Telegram in the Opera sidebar either. For the others - Whatsapp, Messages... - they are also shown there.

If anyone in this forum can give me a tip, I would of course be grateful!
